I have contacted Furniture Deal's former accountants based at 50 Woodgate Leicester. Furniture Deal have not been their clients for the last 6 months but they did give me the contact telephone number they had. The telephone number is the same as ASI Properties Ltd based at 203 Belgrave Gate. Tel 0116 262 4228. I contacted them earlier today and they said they had never heard of Furniture Deal. I have tried this number again since I spoke to the Accountants and the phone is just ringing out.

I also placed an order with Furniture Deal, and the expected delivery date has now passed and I am still without my order.

They seem to be UTTERLY uncontactable...there also seems to be a lot of uncertainty about their actual address so now I think it's unlikely that they even received my letters. Unfortunately I paid by debit card so I'm very worried I won't be able to get my money back...I have no idea what to do!

This is beyond a joke now, I hope whatever the person / persons responsible spend our money on turns to dust in their hands!!!!!!!

I also ordered some furniture from this so called company at the beginning of August. I just happened to go to their website this morning and it was down. Alarm bells started ringing and that is when I came across this forum. I paid by visa debit and was worried that I would not be able to get my money back......so I phoned my bank and explained the situation and they are sending me out a disclaimer form to sign and I will get all my money back on the grounds of not receiving goods. They also said they would investigate the company.
So just phone your bank.

I have now sent a letter by recorded delivery as advised by Trading Standards to

After 3 days I have to contact the Post Office to see if the letter was received and signed for by Furniture Deal. I have to then inform Trading Standards of the outcome and they will then deal with it.

If we all do this we may have a better chance of stopping these rogues from setting up as another company and doing this to more innocent people.

Hi choirboy, Im going to do the same, did you speak to anyone in particular in trading standards? i.e would it be worth speaking to the same person?

I agree we all need to stand up to this company. Look how much moneys worth of products is outstanding just by this small thread alone.:mad:

I have been onto consumeradvise helpline 0845 404 0506 and I have informed them of the postition we have been found to be in. They gave the usual routes of sending recorded delivery letter, contacting companys house and such like.

They have supplied a case reference number sc582603 & have requested anyone who is affected by this to call them so the scale of the issue can be ascertained and then action taken.

Hmm. I served a CCJ on FurnitureDeal on Friday to the Woodgate address - it'll be interesting to see who signed for it! Guess I've wasted the court fee there then.......

I checked on the website for any contact details for the Furniture Deal based at 39 Lisle St Loughborough. The contact number led me to the company which leased out the warehouse to Furniture Deal. They said Furniture Deal disappeared about a week ago also owing them money but have no contact numbers apart from two names of Patel and Mike.

Claireyvonne, sorry I only have a reference no. from the person who I spoke to at Consmuers Direct (Trading Standards). The ref. no. is NW647063.
