• I ordered over £1000 worth of Morris dining furniture in June with this company and have been trying to contact them all week with the same problems as everyone else on here. Emails have been returned undelivered and phone just ringing. Today the phone number is unobtainable and now the website is down! I have called Morris Furniture direct and they have not heard about any problems with the company. Am just desperately hoping that their 'temporary communication' problems are legitimate but not holding my breath. Of course I still want the furniture but realistically how do I know what company to use? With a 10 to 12 week ordering process with large furniture companies such as Morris, this could happen with anyone I go to .......now I feel I cannot trust anyone!

I wish I had come accross this forum before purchasing a dining table with these cowboys, I am utterly disgusted to read how many problems everyone has had with this company.
I purchased my table on 6th Aug 09, money was debited out of my account on 7th Aug. I was told that delivery was between 5-10days, it's the 4th Sept and still no table.
I have sent over 13 emails over the past month and finally I was told 2 days ago that the delivery date should be 8th Sept next Tue, although I am now very scared that this is not going to happen having read the feedback.
As per the previous person's email there is now no website and no working phone number to call, I wonder if they have liquidated the business? I have contacted consumer direct too, they haven't got any info yet, but unfortunately I wouldn't be covered as I paid on debit not credit card.
I wonder if it will turn up on Tue, I know what you are all thinking - yeah right I'm dreaming!
Any help, advice or other phone numbers to their warehouse would be appreciated?
Also I think we should escalate this to Watchdog, seriously in today's day and age people shouldn't be able to get away with this!
My thoughts are with all you others in my situation x
• I to am sorry I never read this forum. I ordered a table on the 17th Aug told it would be within 14 days. When I emailed after that time had passed I was told it was 14 working days from their supplier and then it would be delivered.I email them 2 days ago and got no reply. I emailed again yesterday still nothing, now I discover their website is down.I wont be holding my breath for the table or a refund as I paid by debit card.

Have you investigated the debit card charge back option? You can read more here..clicky

I would be tempted to action this immediately in respect of this company.
.
• Thanks jimexbox I will be looking into it
• I placed an order with this company on 24th August and have discovered they are uncontactable when I went to chase up my order today. Am concerned they may have gone bust having read what's been happening on here.

Consumer direct say they are still showing as active but advised to call Companies House on Monday as website may not be up to date. They also advised me to send a letter to MD of Furniture Deal by recorded delivery saying what ordered/when/price etc. and concerns that they are uncontactable and to ask them to notify date of delivery or re-imbursement if delivery not possible.

They said that after 30 days if they have not delivered they are in breach of contract and I can then apply to credit card company for refund. Hope this helps.
• Have had the same problem myself have ordered dinning table and chairs 27 June and still not delivered. As regards to not getting through on the phone they have sent me this

Dear Customer,

We would like to inform you that we are transforming our Customer Service call centre into an e-Customer Care Centre, wherein, all customer queries would be handled and resolved through emails. The reason behind this decision was to offer our valued customer a quick resolution and efficient customer service.
We had initially set-up the call centre with a view to encourage better customer service. However, due to the influx of calls, and comparatively less agents, a lot of customers complained about not getting through our phone lines. As a result, a practice which was started to help our customers, had them complaining instead.
With this new e-Customer Care Centre, we assure our valid customers that we can put in our maximum efforts for the best possible resolution to your queries.
Please send in all your queries/complaints to customerservice@furnituredeal.co.uk
Your email would be replied to with a resolution within 24 hours from the receipt of the same.

PLEASE NOTE:
? The customer Service Helpline ? 01509 271 786 has been taken out of service. Hence, we advise you not to call that number, as there would be no response.
? The number flashed on the website, 01509 270 786 is a SALESLINE only and no customer service queries can be answered there

Thanking you for your co-operation and understanding in advance

Sincerely Yours

Sam Shaikh
Manager - Customer Service

I have emailed them today cancelling my order, we will see if we get a reply.
Fortunately I paid by credit card so if they have gone under I can claim back from Barclaycard. Will post again if get a reply from them!
• Hi all,

I've had the same experience as the rest of you with furnituredeal.co.uk - phonelines and web site down so can't track down my order of £700.00 placed with them back in early August. I have also had 2 failed delivery dates.

When the website was up, it listed an address of Woodgate in central Leicester, so I got my dad (who lives nearby) to pay a visit on Friday and it turns out that this is the address of the accountants who deal with furnituredeal and not an address for the business location. Apparently the accountants are fed-up with disgrunteld customers turning up there and are none the wiser as to what is going on with business - or at least that's what the reception said.

I tracked the business address for the firm down to what is hopefully the following:

39 Lisle St, Loughborough, Leicestershire, LE11 1AW.

Apparently the business owners name is an Asif Ali Mahomed.

Seen as like the rest of you I'm getting no joy in calling this address, I will be getting someone to pay the above address a visit early next week. Will post here to let you know what happens.

Hopefully the business is still solvent and there is a chance I can get my money back from the merchants bank (paid on Visa debit), but I know that's a long shot.

I think it makes sense for all of us to cut and paste our comments made here over to the watchdog website...or any other body that can help progress our claims - pls post if you know any others.

Hopefully by acting in this way we will be able to gain some momentum as a group and get our frustrations acted upon. Until then I fear I may have just got some of the frustration of my chest but achieved little else.

Will post my comments over to Watchdog now...good luck and regards,

Inde
