I see in one of your earlier threads that you actually ordered your furniture on the 3rd September. That was the same day that Asif Mohamed sought advice from PKF and ceased trading on the 4th. He must have known that he was unable to fulfil your order on the 3rd!!

Have you had the pack from PKF entiled "to all known customers" that we received today? In it the Liquidator does say "I shall be pleased to receive from any customers any useful information concerning the company, its dealings or conduct which may assist me in my investigation into the company's affairs." I think you should tell them that he took your order when he knew he wasn't able to fulfil it as he was going to cease trading the next day.

    Good luck!

All done! Just read also that they approached PKF about liquidation the day that they took my order.
  • Thank you all for your hard work in persuing these people. I am another victim of FDUK, placing an order on 28th August - the money came out the same day. Never had any e-mails, apart from invoice and no-one ever answered the phone. Alarm bells rang as soon as I tried to track order and web site had vanished. Am I right in thinking that it is suspected that the following companies potentially have a link to each other? (Am trying to b v careful how I word this!) FurnitureDealUK.net, FurnitureDeal.co.uk limited, Display Deal, HF Containers, FurnitureWarehouse online, Hansons Ltd, FDW Derbyshire, Home Furnishing Ltd and furnitureimage09. Appreciate some might be ok, know for definate some are not. Will e-mail everyone I know and put it on Facebook. They cannot trade with no customer base! Good luck to everyone on getting money back. we paid by visa, have sent forms back n r waiting to hear.
  • Hi, i have recently spoken to the cab about this case as it really annoys me that these people are going to get away with money that they have basically stolen. However the cab told me that no matter who you bank with or how you paid then your bank should have a duty of care to you the customer. So if you scream loud enough or get the cab to talk to them you may be in with a chance. I hope it all works out for you all.
Also dont forget to look at junction9furniture for a great deal.
  • I placed my order in the first place with FD because I saw them on Quidco and on there it said they were a family run business for over 16 years so they seemed pretty well established, yet now it seems they have only been trading since 2007, this is yet something else about them that doesn't add up:confused:

That report makes for grim reading..... has anyone had any positive response from Leicester CID? A civil matter they may try to call it on a one-to-one basis however, not sure that they can ignore complaints from all the victims, supported by the report. They can't just sweep us under the carpet if we won't go away!! Justice, that is what our message should be, how about we have a major onslaught to Watchdog AGAIN armed with what we now know?
  • Hi All.
If the police are not willing to do anything, have a go at your MP. The elections are just around the corner. Some time ago a hit & run driver drove my son off the road and into a wall. The police knew the car involved but would not do anything. A call to my MP sorted it out and the police took an interest then.
My accountant tels me that the maximum amount for the directors loan account should not be more than £5000. Any more and the revenue would class it as earnings, and Tax & NIC would have to be paid on the whole amount. This guy has been sailing close to the wind. I would like to see his previous two years accounts to see how much was taken out of this company and paid to him as dividends, on which he would only have paid tax and not NIC's. I cant see this guy living on a salary of £21240 and running a house the size of his.
It looks like this guy has been running the company for a good while whilst it has been insolvent and only waiting for the right time to clean up and get out,
leaving lots of people and companies out of pocket.
as I have said before, I have got my money back as I paid with a Visa Debit card and would say to all others - If your bank does not issue Visa Debit cards - change your bank, because from what I've read in this forum they are not interested in helping you.
I would think that the Vat man will be looking into his accounts, as they will not be happy at loosing almost £66,000.
  • tony...is it our local MP we would have to get in touch with or would we have to get in touch with the Leicester one...sorry to hear about what happened with your son and good on you for contacting your MP
  • Dolly-Rocket, just checked my bank and they have given me a refund. I wrote to them 2 weeks ago and all I sent them was a print off of the email of the invoice from furniture deal when I placed my order and also the letter we got from PKF confirming that furniture deal had gone into liquidation. I havent had any letters from the bank yet, so I dont know what they are saying about it, if you paid the same way there should be no reason why shoulnt get your refund as well as we are both with the same bank.

    Hi millie,

can i ask by what method did you pay them?

    Thanks.
