I see in one of your earlier threads that you actually ordered your furniture on the 3rd September. That was the same day that Asif Mohamed sought advice from PKF and ceased trading on the 4th. He must have known that he was unable to fulfil your order on the 3rd!!
Have you had the pack from PKF entiled "to all known customers" that we received today? In it the Liquidator does say "I shall be pleased to receive from any customers any useful information concerning the company, its dealings or conduct which may assist me in my investigation into the company's affairs." I think you should tell them that he took your order when he knew he wasn't able to fulfil it as he was going to cease trading the next day.
Good luck!
Hello,
Yes I got the report today. I didn't read it in full, but did see the bit about making staff redundant on the 4th!!!!! Money didnt leave my bank til the 6th!
The entire report and my email receipt have been sent recorded delivery to my bank today, but I can still view it at the PKF website.
I'm at the cinema tonight so I shall 100% be contacting PKF tomorrow regarding this, especially as they tried to cover up the sale to me by not even passing my details to PKF! I had to contact them myself and prove I was a creditor.
Well spotted, I didn't see that bit!0 -

thats the point i am making, where has the money gone, 18000 customers paid all that money, on top where has the debt come from? it doesnt make sense for him to borrow co much money, as he only orders from his suppliers once a order is made...
any ideas?0 -

Yes, go to google maps and search for one of the directors post codes: LE2 2FD
and you will see where the money has gone when you see the size of the houses in that road.0 -
It really is unbelievable the enormity of the debt they ran up. Anyone keeping an eye on the books would have realised this long before it got into the state it did.
It is obvious that siphoning money from the limited company and letting it go under is poor profitable than running the company properly and banking the profit margins.
And how can profit margins be so low in the documents!
Surely it would become apparent that the company was suffering when the debt had hit £100,000, not almost £1,000,000. There is absolutely no loyalty to any of their customers…….the man is just a thief.
There are no doubts in my mind…….Can forget that Asif Alimohamed owned a company prior to this with his brother, and what a surprise it went bankrupted. PKF will openly tell you this.
I’m afraid that if you can’t get your money back from the bank, then the chances are looking slim. The only possibilities that leave any chance of getting a refund now are:- If it can be proven that he was braking the law, then assets owned by Asif Alimohamed might be able to get taken into account
Think it is important to let PKF have any findings you have so it can be looked into. They know how this company has been operating, but need the proof.
I think sell his house…….that would cover the debt0 -
This is beyond a joke now, I hope whatever the person / persons responsible spend our money on turns to dust in their hands!!!!!!!0

Does anyone bank with Abbey? I phoned Abbey on the 7th Sept and was told they'd send me a dispute-disclaimer form. Still waiting to receive it. I paid by debit card and the guy on the phone was helpful enough in saying I should fill in the form and when they receive it back my money would be credited within 2 working days but I am getting really annoyed as thats over three weeks ago.
When I phoned they said they had sent out a form on the 9th,after two weeks I was told they'd send another but still haven't received that either.
Is there any problems with the mail in England, I live in Glasgow and wondered if that was the reason. Any ideas Help0 -
It's been a while since I posted but it's clear that a lot of people still aren't getting anywhere with their banks. I know it mostly problems after paying by debit card but try to keep up the tenacity, keep asking and asking and asking, hopefully somebody will get !!!!ed off enough to want to shut you up by giving what you ask for!
For those of you who paid by credit card, keep at it. I've just today had confirmation of the refund from Barclaycard. Some good news at least.Hello all,
I am so shocked to see what extent people can go.
I am the owner of FURNITURE IMAGE, and I own this business for several years.
I declare that MY COMPANY is NOT linked to FURNITURE DEAL in any way and I am a complete separate Buisness. My shop has been in Leicester same address for nearly a decade.
By linking my company to FURNITURE DEAL you are jeopardizing my newly launched online business.
If we find any further people accusing us of being part of FURNITURE DEAL or any other company we will be forced to take Legal Action against them.
If you have any doubts about who I am please feel free to contact me 01162663000 or visit my shop.
ALSO LET EBAY INVESTIGATE THE TRUTH WILL COME UP.
As for the quote above, well, a couple of weeks back when someone initially accused the ebay member furniture_image09 of being affiliated with FDUK, it prompted a rather angry, threatening response. Personally I would have thought a more friendly approach to informing us all that the two businesses were completely unrelated would have illicited a much more productive response from the forum members, and perhaps even put some business their way...anyway, at the time I thought i'd contact the member and just casually ask about collection to see if I could see for myself whether there was any connection. I got a response from the ebay user and didn't bother to take it any further. I today received the following email notification from ebay: We can see that you've had contact with furniture_image09 through eBay recently.
We've been looking into activity on this account and taken action if we needed to. To protect this member's privacy, we can't share any more details about their account.
People sometimes misuse eBay accounts by sending emails from them. In these emails, they invite you to buy or sell outside eBay, or ask questions that have nothing to do with eBay. They do this in the hope that you'll respond and give them your email address.
We strongly recommend you treat emails from this member with caution and don't respond if you hear from them again. 0 -

Got the other email returned today, so will resend when bubba goes to school.
Luckymillie, thanks for sharing. Sounds positive so fingers crossed and keep me updated. I was given a different address to write to yesterday by the Coop. It was callled Team Caspian, whereas the last time it was Team 563.0 -
luckymillie wrote: »Dolly-Rocket, just checked my bank and they have given me a refund. I wrote to them 2 weeks ago and all I sent them was a print off of the email of the invoice from furniture deal when I placed my order and also the letter we got from PKF confirming that furniture deal had gone into liquidation. I havent had any letters from the bank yet, so I dont know what they are saying about it, if you paid the same way there should be no reason why shoulnt get your refund as well as we are both with the same bank.
That is fantastic news, really great.
When I initially contacted them I was given wrong advice and told to just ask for disclaimer form. So yesterday I posted off the PKF report and my FD email reciept, much the same as you.
I paid Visa Electron, so fingers crossed XXXXXXXX
Thanks for sharing.
Going to contact PKF now about FD's dealings.0
