Schools are being invited to accept a nit free challenge from the makers of Nice 'n Clear. They are offering free lice management workshops for teachers and parents as well as 30 bottles of lotion per school (30 per SCHOOL :-/). To register your school (might be worth passing details on to the school to do themselves or offer to do it instead of just going ahead) visit https://www.lice.co.uk, click schools, then nit free challenge (if you're passing on details to the school) or click HERE for the direct link.
The site itself is good and I found out for the first time that 'Head lice are translucent in colour until after they have had a meal. With blood in their tummy they look quite dark.'.....NIIIIICE :-X
BTW - I know you can get lice lotion free from your health visitor or doctor for your children, but this challenge includes workshops and info and basically gets the whole school involved instead of just sending letters home.I'm a little angelBUT A WHOLE LOTTA DEVIL

When my daughter was in first school they had a Bug Busting programme which was very successful.
Combing kits can be bought from here :

I also recommend Tea Tree and Mint conditioner.
Samples of which can be obtained from Original Source

Filigree- my partners hair is halfway down his back and that is hard enough to comb! Knee length must be awful. I've always wondered what you do if you have dredlocks??0 -
Just to let you known that Boots are currently selling Original Source Mint & TeaTree 'flavour' conditioner BOGOF
(£2.49 for both).
(and also their shampoo)
If that's a bit steep for you - buy a little bottle of tea tree oil & put a couple of drops in any conditioner before combing.0 -
sainsbury also had it on bogof at w/end.0
