I'd be grateful though if someone could explain how I see what star ratings are available in what zone (for the free bid situ) as I've read all the guides but just couldn't see anything on the maps when I selected different zones.Never regret anything....'cos at one time it was exactly what you wanted...0 -

You have to do each zone individually (Yes it's a pain )
For London
1. At the page "Select the Areas Where you want to stay"
select zone 1 ([FONT=geneva,helvetica,sans-serif]Bloomsbury - Marble Arch)
then click on the "Next" button
2. At this page "Select a Quality Level for your hotel" you should see the star ratings.
Here the highest level is 4*
Make a note of that
3. Then click "Previous" button
4. Repeat from 1, selecting ONLY one zone at a time
You should find there are NO Free Rebid zones for 3* or 4* in London.
But there are free rebid zones for 5* bids.

Hi, just updating my 'success' on Priceline.
I think I got a little over excited and I'm sure I could have got it even cheaper in hindsight. However, I was getting fed up of looking around and got 4 nights in NYC in May for £90 a night at the Sheraton Hotel and Towers.
I used all my initial bids with 3 zones on 40, 50, 60
It then let me have another 3 bids on the same zones (logged out and back in again) and i put 70 (times square), 80 (Times square and Central park south) both rejected then put in 90 with the final zone (, Times square, central park and midtown west).
My mum is over the moon so I can't grumble!
Happy Bidding people!!! :beer:0 -
Destination: Chicago
Type of accommodation: 3* plus
How many extra daily bids did you have available: 5
How much were your 2nd/3rd etc & final bids: £35 final bid
Hello all. I have had a interesting experience of priceline. I researched the hotels in the area for *'s as suggested but accidently picked O'Hare aiport (4*) instead of O'Hare airport south (my dummy area at 1*). I ended up winning the Marriot O'Hare (usually $189 a night)for £35 a night, ideally I would have preferred somewhere downtown but you cannot argue with the price.
Just for information I had put 4* hotels in at first then added 3*plus. I took my price down and it was excepted. From my experience please do your research and be careful of what areas/stars you are entering.
Good luck and enjoy!!!!!0
