    Hello

    I've two wins to report:
I had been tracking the winning bids for hotels in the area I wanted to stay in for a little while in Betterbidding ..............decided to put a bid in and started with the lowest bid win price that I had seen.

This wasn't as easy as the one above. From reading Betterbidding I had decided the area I wanted to stay and, again, had been tracking winning bids.
(Blindman, I think I have recently read in a post of yours that you advise not to bid every day. I will certainly take that on board for the future.)

I decided to give it another go tonight as I have noticed that wins are starting to be reported for my period. I thought I would start at, what I thought, was the bottom of range for the time and bid £80. (4 night stay.) Success 1st time tonight and got the Omni Berkshire Place which is currently 56/413 hotels in TA. I am extremely pleased with this hotel.

For info - both bids reported on BB and donation made as used Priceline.co.uk.

Also, many thanks to Blindman for all the useful advice about Priceline on this site.

I would say that was a faultless bidding strategy :T:T

It's usually best to stick to 4* in NYC as there are less "dumps", you have free rebids and the winning bids tend not to be much highter than 3*'s

Have you determined what your minimum and maximumbids will be?

Why don't you go on to BB and ask for a strategy.

No they don't get a BIG commission but as thereuare runs the site out of his own pocket he is entitled to ask you to use their links.
You'll find MSE does the same too

I see you got the strategy If you'd have asked that question on BFT you would have been banned.

    $120 is about £83.these days...

Ensure you are on the .co.uk site and NOT .com site.

I'm not sure if this still applies with the fall in our exchange rate but I tried to book a hotel on the UK site, my bid was refused. I immediately bid the equivalent $ rate on the US site and it was accepted.

Just put the first line of your address in, choose any state and put in a 5 digit made-up zip code and it will work. PL don't query this. You will be able to enter the correct card details on the payment page.

    • Destination: Seattle Airport - Doubletree 16th April
    • Type of accommodation: 3 star hotel
    • First bid: £28
    • How many extra daily bids did you have available: only needed the first
    • How much were your 2nd/3rd etc & final bids: Not used
    • And then write your Priceline hotel booking story
I looked at the posts on BetterBidding.com (BB) to get a feel for the process and prices, then tried to bid on Priceline.com but it only allows US and Canadian addresses on the payment page (sorry blindman, I didn't find your advice page until later). It took me a few goes of setting up a profile and eventually going through priceline.co.uk before I actually succeeded (my fault for getting frustrated with the process and not reading things properly). Finally converted the 'base' BB win price of $40 into a £28 bid which was accepted - £39.11 with taxes and fees. Now that I know what I'm doing, I am looking for a hotel in downtown Seattle - I'll report back later.
