Could be just no hotels to offer? Is there perhaps a special event at that time but hmmm sounds a bit odd to me to be honest.

What date and how many nights?

What does Hotwire have for those dates and what price?
Have you found any other winning bids for your dates?

What are the conventional hotel rates for your dates?

Some big conferences (at the Javits Centre) can fill hotel rooms in New York

Have you read my guide?

Are you only bidding for that one area or have you others that would be OK?

BTW
Do you really need to stay in Times Square? IMHO it's a dump.

You could ask for a strategy at Better Bidding.

Seconded, not a nice area, plus you may end up at the Millenium Broadway. I've never wanted to get out of my hotel room so much! :o

As much as I love Priceline, there are some excellent offers around on non opaque sites. www.travelzoo.com is very good.
Gone ... or have I?

On Hotwire there seems to be the Room-Mate Grace hotel which is bang in Times Sq.
Its the 3.5* with Boutique Hotel ,Complimentary Breakfast Pool(s) Business Spa Services
This is for $129 + tax ($753.15 total for your stay).

The cheapest 4* is at $204 with Boutique, Restaurant, Fitness which look like The Muse So factoring the taxes this equals $230 per night.
Priceline winning bids (usually 10% cheaper) may be around $200 so about £140.
This is a rough guestimate though so your 'losing' bids of £150 may just be below the required amount.

Hope you get what you want.

Destination: Venice
Type of Accomodation: 5*
How many bids Left? : Not sure, accepted on my first bid

Bid £100 on a 5* hotel in Venice and was amazed when they accepted. We are going to the Hilton Molino Stucky for a total of £228 for two rooms. Rooms normally start at £295 per room.

As breakfast is 30 euros per person I doubt if we will be able to afford to eat or drink in the hotel but no matter.

One free rebid as the area Mestre only has 4* as the highest star level.
