The code will only work on essentials and you must go directly via www.talktalk.co.uk/12monthsfree

Please could someone tell me how to input the code for 12 months free at Talk Talk?

When I phone or when they phone (and hassle me) - they always deny that the deal exists so cannot get any help from anyone.

Many thanks Old Grey Fox and Ypaymore for the link, but please could you tell me where and how to input the code as when I press the link that you kindly sent - it is only the information but does not say how to get it.

    Offer ends 15th December.

    Many thanks

Le73 - I initially wanted to get the Pro package - but thought do I really want all day calls and not need such a big internet speed/download - especially when there are boosts if I need it later and apparently you can use other places for boosts. Just thought I suggest it in case any use to you.

Well Skat ... I must be feeling your pain, because I've finally registered for this forum, just to help you. I suppose it's about time, because I've been reading and benefiting for a long time. So, here's hoping it helps.

Using the 12mnth link, you should get words about 12mnth free in big white letters in the black area on the essentials intro page. Scrolling down should show the prices, and £6.49 crossed out, for 12 mnths.
Next, put your tel no and post code in, and you'll get a personalised offer with your likely line speed, and a summary of costs. But with no mention of the offer.
In the box at the bottom of these costs, put in the offer code 300AEFREE and press update.
It'll refresh, with the costs updated, mentioning 12 mnth free below the £6.49, and the code still showing, and some words below the code saying 'Promotion, 12 mnths free essentials'.

If this doesn't work, try closing the talktalk tab, and deleting all cookies for talktalk. If it mentions 'not available on this channel', then definitely delete the cookies.

Hope it helps. Been there myself with the last offer. It didn't work online, but it was the first day. But I pushed hard, and got some very good, interested, motivated staff, who wanted to understand why nobody told sales, etc, about offers in the public domain. And then sorted it. I'm not connected yet, but I'm optimistic, because some of the staff were very good.

    Here's hoping. Good luck.

PS. The bit about the cookies came from Baggio, post 312. It helped me back then, and now that I'm registered I've just been back and thanked him.

PPS. Offer intro (big white letters in the black area on the essentials intro page) says expires 15dec09. But following the ** to the note at the bottom, says expires 31dec09).

Many thanks Dieng - especially for a detailed explanation and for registering just to help. I appreciate it!

I need a new phone line. I presently do not have a working phone line (as had been working away and now moved back). However, even when I tried my sister's telephone number, to test it out, it still did not work because Talk Talk web site stated that they did not recognise the number.

Any ideas? Or should I still try to phone the Talk Talk customer service until I find someone competent and interested in what I am saying.

    Many thanks again.

    Hi Guys,

The discount is only aplicable for Essentials and can not be used for Pro. Sorry for the delay in my reply. I was out of the office on Friday and the online support team don't work weenends as a general rule.

Skat, I don't believe the offer code applies to new line instalations but I'll check for you today.

    Cheers

Thank you for your reply Emma.

I was told that if I want Broadband as well as phone - then I need a new phone line - i.e. through Talk Talk. They said that it is only if I have only phone calls that I could keep a BT phone line.

Essentials is both phone and broadband - so I assume that I can have a new phone (through Talk Talk at £59.99) and get the 12 months free? Please confirm.

Emma, please also inform me how to get the actual 12 months free - as you can see from my previous emails that I am having trouble by trying to do it online and even more trouble when I phone Talk Talk or when they phone me.

    Many thanks

    Hi Skat,

The only time you would need a new line for both phone and broadband services on LLU with TalkTalk is if you are with Virgin on a cable service currently or if your number has been on a cable service in the past. Is this the case with your line?

The free plan for 12 months does not apply to new line instalations - this would only apply to customers migrating from another provider. The link posted by ypaymore needs to be used in order to get the offer.

    Cheers

I am really annoyed to hear that - if I had been told earlier then I might have been able to make a decision concerning other offers instead of thinking that Talk Talk had a good deal.

I have spoken to so many Talk Talk reps on the phone - over a period of at least 3 weeks - and their attitude of being as unhelpful as they can has been a disgrace.

I have also previously outlined my situation in my previous emails which you repied to Emma by simply stating to use the Talk Talk forum but I need to be a TT customer to do so - which was very unhelpful - considering you knew that I was a new customer. You will also see that I have been having difficulty trying to access the offer of free 12 months which Deing kindly assisted me with (albeit I still had some problems).

The offer does also not state that it is for customers transfering from other providers and certainly does not make it clear at all if it does.

Talk Talk has clearly also made it as difficult as possible for new customers to know what offers there are. If it was not for this site - Martin Lewis - then I would be none the wiser.

I am not impressed at all by Talk talk and no wonder there are complaints on the other Martin Lewis forum dedicated just to Talk talk.

My message is as above. I just want to be sure that I put in a title to ensure anyone else in the same situation as myself to find out as soon as possible.

    Hi Skat,

I can not identify if an e-mail sent via the contact us button on the TalkTalk forums and this thread are related as I have none of your details available to me on this site - simply a username that could be in use by other people on other sites. The contact us button is not used for customer support but for registration issues which is why you will have received an e-mail asking you to complete forum registration should you have a customer services issue.

There is a specific page on the TalkTalk website that relates to new line instalations. I am sorry if sales or customer service agents have been unclear about the validity of the offer at any time. However, you have now been provided with the correct information.

    Cheers
