    Hi all,

I am thinking of getting the Talk Talk Essentials package. I'm moving to a house without a phone line so I need to get one installed which I know will cost £60. I was thinking of going through Simplify Digital for the £60 cashback which will cover that installation cost. My question is, will I still be eligible for the free connection (saving £30) that they are currently offering if I do this and, is it the cheapest route to take?

    Thanks!

This might be of interest to you

The TalkTalk Essentials 18 month package that combine,s line rental, unlimited eve & wknd calls & broadband usually works out at £19.41 a month including the connection charge.

You can get it down to an average of £15.07 a month for the moment.

    See: www.talktalk.co.uk/12monthsfree

The discount code to use is 300AEFREE

I signed up with Primus and received an automatic email from them, which included the password I had entered.

Anyone who knows anything about internet security knows that this is a very bad idea. So I asked them if they could please not do it. Their reply was:

All I can do in response to that is invoke Manuel and ask: "que?"

Good luck. The Customer Service experience with them has deterioated since it was moved to India, from Scotland.
  • Hi, Mum and Dad are already with TalkTalk. To get the broadband essentials package do they have to pay the connection fee and the £6.99 a month, or is there any way to get either of these discounted?
The 12 months free offer states **Offer only available to new customers ordering the Essential package.

Thanks YPaymore, but what I'm concerned about is that to get the £60 cashback from Simplify Digital (which I need to cover the new line installation) you have to phone up, which means I'm probably going to have to do it all over the phone. I know I can't get the 12 months free offer over the phone, but can I get the free steup/connection charge (£30) over the phone?

I'm going to try and do it today...eek!

    Thanks!

According to the link you give, it is not £19.41 a month but £18.48 (£6.99 for the package, £11.49 line rental).

And when I rang TalkTalk, they also quoted me £18.48.

    Am I overlooking something, please?

I need broadband and am seriously considering TalkTalk.

I am aware of the many complaints about its customer service - but searching around, I find the same seems to apply to every other internet service provider! (What a lousy industry!)

Also, four of my friends have TalkTalk and are happy with the service. Perhaps it's because we are not too far from the exchange.

Anyway, TalkTalk are offering this "12 months free broadband" deal, expiring 31 December, if I sign up online. But it does mean paying a connection fee of £29.99.

If I sign up by telephone, rather than online, I can get free connection but not the 12 months free broadband. It is not such a good deal financially.

If I had signed up to this deal before 15 December, connection was free.

Please does any money saving expert know if there is still a way to take advantage of the 12 month free broadband deal AND get free connection?

    Thanks very much for replying.
I would be very grateful if you could also say:
    (1) Do you mean you signed up online, through their website - or did you sign up by phone with their sales department?
    (2) And did you actually get the free 12 months broadband as well as free connection?

Thanks for replying and for the information.
Yes, that is a good offer.
Unfortunately, though, I am outside their area.
