I just got a call. was advised I could cancel as I was on the talker £15 which was 250
mins/ 50 texts. Instead I agreed to a Nokia N95 8 gig with 500 mins for £18. I'm sure I could have pressed harder but I am happy with this. Very polite call back person. I have now started a new 18 month contract with this.:TSelf Employed, Running my Dream Jobs0 -

Just got my letter day, I thought sod it with waiting for a reply to my e-mail and called up.
Spoke to Sunita at 2pm - She confirmed that I had every right to leave (funny the last guy said the changes didn't effect me).
She said i'm valued and 3 would like to keep me. I said i have plenty of options right now and want the N95 8gb for less then £20 per month.
She offered me the phone on a price plan with 500mins an 100 texts for £30 plus an £8pm discount. I laughed and blasted the inappropriate text allocation. She then said ok I give you a free add-on of 3000txts.
I repeatedly told her that I woudn't use all those txts so its a waste of time and besides i need to bring it down to less than £20.
She replied that i am currently spending £35pm on my line rental which I rubbished as i actually spend £17.50 due to an 18month half price discount.
I told her that to accept her offer of £22pm I need a 12month contract. She then told of how expensive the handset was etc.. I said i've got plenty of options with O2 and Vodafone especially sim-only deals and asked about the price of the tarrif with the standard n95, supprisingly it made no difference.
I said i'd had enough I need to spend less than £20. After 5mins on hold she said her manager said I can have the n95 8gb for £20pm 500mins and 3100txts. Again i said i don't need all the txts, but was told its still the same price without that add-on.
I queried the terms and conditions, and she told me the phone could be here tomorrow morning.
In the end I agreeded as its the phone i've been wanting for a while. I only usually use 200mins but with the 60sec billing this might double. Can't see how I will use all the txts, data would be better but they wouldn;t budge.
I now have 14 days to change my mind.
She was sure that once I did set in motion the cancellation of my contract that I would not be offered anything else. Despite needed to see out the next month my contract would in effect be terminated immediately and I would lose any benefits - Could have been bull excrement but as i was offered the phone I wanted I took it.
A lot of the you might wonder why the big bulky n95 and why the 8gb over the standard. The screen on the former is larger, although both are much larger than the n80. I get on with the equally bulky and very slow n80 extremely well and regualy use my phone on my motorcycle as a sat nav. Here the larger screen will be of benefit.
p.s i'm quite sure that without the n95 8gb my offer would have been £10 or in the very low teens.
Keep fighting0 -

I wasn't offered anything either, but I was adamant from the start I was cancelling and made it clear nothing was going to stop me. If you call them back, tell them you've heard of people being offered deals to stay and just query what you could get, they'll offer you something.0 -
Tried calling them its no dice, no offers at all.:mad:0

Yes I got my PAC yesterday.0 -
3:39pm : i'm on hold to them now - she's tried to tell me that three have to give 30 days notice for any change in your agreement, so they are not in any kind of breach of the terms and conditions.
i advised her to look at the website, so i'm on hold .. for how long, who knows ?
while I was talking to her, I kept hearing rounds of applause in the background, so maybe she's nipped off to the leaving do ?
3:56pm : she is trying to quote section 2 of the terms and conditions to me, saying that 3 are entitled to change the terms of the contract if they give you 30 days notice.
4:06pm : after arguing with the flunkey for 10 minutes, asked to speak the supervisor, who was actually reasonably non-confrontational. She actually told me that my contract started in Feburary this year, which is a complete lie as I upgraded in December last year, and I even told her the shop I upgraded in.
She asked me if i wanted to cancel my contract and said she would put me through to the relevant department, which she did (she rang me back, so i'm on hold on their dime)
i'm now on hold, and i'm expecting a loooong wait
4:20pm : well not too bad.
cancellation department are telling me that since i upgraded in december 2007, i am still due to pay a cancellation fee because the "cut-off" point was October 2007.
i've now asked to speak to HER manager
4:22pm : her manager is apparently in a meeting, so she said that he will ring me back in 2 hours.
we'll see - if anyone reads this who's cancelled, how do you rate my chances?
i've threatened them with OFCOM already, so i'm not going to let it go ...0 -
Sent letter to cancel under the '59 seconds' rule last week to the Galsgow office. Followed this up 2 days ago with an email to the executive office and recieved a call to today from a fellow Glasgow lass saying I have every right to cancel and they will accept my 30 day notice for today. Result, looking for a new contract now!!!!0
