  • Quick bit of advice - 3 changed my t&cs last month to round up the first minute of calls. After lots of hassle from the call centre, they gave me a PAC and let me switch to Orange. Three then sent me a final bill, including an early termination fee, equivalent to my final 5 months line rental left on the contract. This contradicted their own assurances that I was free to leave immediately due to their detrimental change to the T&Cs. I then had to cancel my direct debit and write to them reiterating that I was cancelling as per my right due to a detrimental change. Three weeks later, they've sent me a cheque to refund me the last half month's line rental, and also a second letter stating that my account has been closed, and I have nothing further to pay.

I'd suggest that you back up any phone calls in writing - this way Three can't simply try to charge you an early cancellation fee.

I have been recording their calls, so that I can hold them to it.

He did advise though that I would pay line rental right up to my notice date, even if I ported tomorrow. He said that as I had sent my canc email last week I could claim back 5 days line rental as my canc date had taken 5 days to process.
  • im in the process of using my pac i got from 3, o2 say 22nd it will be complete. we shall see
  • they've obviously received my letter cos they have started calling me - I really can't be bothered with the hard sell and having to explain it all to them I just want to cancel and get my iphone! do you think if I ignore their calls they will just cancel me ?

Just speak to them, the sooner you do it the sooner you'll get it cancelled.

thanks for that,at the moment they are trying to tell me that I can't cancel as I upgraded in Feb,but there is nothing in the t&c's to say this.shall I just keep going when the manager rings back, any advice would be very welcome,am really angry now! Thanks
  • I upgraded last September (07) for an 18month contract.

    For £35 a month I got:
    N95
£180 credit a month (works out about 800 mins +200 texts)

I'm not sure if I should bother cancelling! I don't want the direct debit around myneck, but equally I don' think I can get a better deal.

    What does anyone reckon?
