Fat Boy: Sadly, getting a w800i on Orange is near impopssible, we just dont have any in stock, and I do believe it will be a solid month until we get them back in general circulation. Meaning that on a good note we'll have some for the 6th of December, but on the bad note, they may still have a price due to the fact that they are still in great demand.

The upgrade on your phone is put into bands, depending on how much you spend, and is usually calculated on the last three months bill. So it is possible to downgrade your tariff yet get a phone for free as you are in a higher band. This wasnt the case before as you had to stay on that tariff for 6 months.

I even think Retentions wont do much of a deal; as they dont have physical stock yet. I believe that the phone should be in stock for you at December just getting the price right is what you want, I think in band 3 which you will be defaulted to if you dont go ober mins or texts etc will cost £49.99 but free on Band 4. So your hoping it will go free you or haggle the £49.99 down.

I think also the price is so high just as we have none in stock; which is why if we had new customers it would be £49.99 on 200mins.

Think we need to wait until they are in physical stock all over, and than we can see what will happen price wise.

Hi eco21. Is there a limit to the amount of contracts one person can hold with Orange?

Umer: There is no set limit, think it can vary depending on spend and circumstances. For example if you had three handsets and three contracts and never paid bills then you would be doubtful to get a fourth.

I had three at once, with no problems.

How many have you got just now? Or how many you looking at taking out?

eco21, I have just rung Orange to cancel my contract and they have offered me a deal. I am currenty using about 560 texts per month and paying anything from4o to 55 quid per month and they have offered me 1000 free texts plus 60 mins free per month for £15 ( incl vat) but I must upgrade my phone and do a 12 month contract.

I can have a more modern flip motorola or the 750i that you mention. She advised the 750 is abetter phone but if I was comfortable with my motorola then to go for the newer version of that.

I'd appreciate your telling me what you think of this as I was planning to go pay as you go with Tesco.Thanks.

    Thanks for your reply.

I've actually got 5 now, spread over 2 different accounts. I actually want to cancel my main (student) account one which is in the 11 month, then to a port to virgin then back again on a new student contract, to try get a better deal (as my current spend is £15/month I'd be gobsmacked if they offered me a deal like they give new customers even if I increase it to a £25 contract).

I'm worried that because I'm thinking of gettting that new contract a few days after I cancel my current one (and port the number in later) I might be rejected... and end lose the student package all together. Do you think I'll have any problems?

needmoney: thats sounds cracking, you should be completely covered and never have to pay for a message, 60mins is 2mins a day, so with all those texts you should restrict using the mobile.

Think the motorolas would either be the V635 or the V3, V3 is the razor one which people either love or hate, downside is poor memory so cant store many mp3 files or pictures, whilst the V635 has intenal memory and a TransFlash Card; which is expandable.

The K750i is a phone I like, but maybe biased as I dont like flip phones; go in store and play eith them; then go home and phone them with your desicsion.

philyau: when we phone we are tild the day and an exact two hour window in that time; i.e 7am - 9am on 20/10/05 and have as far as Im aware never tend to break this. So your should be through on that day. What time did you take the contract out, as this will depend on the 2 hour window.

Your 100 Buyback will be creditted; dont worry, it is put onto your account number; which can have any phone number attached to it; old or new. When putting it through the till; we type in Orange Number; most of us, will type in your old number as if you have a problem 6 months down the line; thats the number we will quote on the phone.

If you ask for it on the 30th November, AFAIK it is only useable for 30 days meaning that ont the 1/1/6 it will be useless as you'll need another one. If you phone on the 2/12/5 you should be ok as long as you dont port it onto another network as you may get a bill for final month.

Im unsure just as I dont know where you got the contract from etc; to see if you have paid a month upfront or pro-rata; as this will depend when your 12month bill will end, november or december.

Umer:To be safe; I would port it off accoutn A and onto account B; this way it wont look as bad as in off then on the same account. I am thinking it maybe neccessary to put it on another account, as they will be using the same student details (NUS etc) but what to is phone uo on your existing account that hasnt got a student contract on ti, and say you wish to add a student account. I done this for a friend and the giy on the phone said ok; said student card, I said he's scottish, no nus, only matriculation, I said Id phone back (bluffing) he said dont worry, when you phone to connect it, say its a student deal at that point. So that could be a thought.

What deal have you got and what are you spending on your student tarriff?

edit: dont know why there is a clapping man at the top of the post, sorry.
