Mine just turned up.....at last! So there's still hope for you guys.

    Pro or Ultimate?

On what date did you order? Your earlier message suggests you ordered on the 20 Nov, which is a bit concerning as I ordered Pro on the 5th.

    Ultimate.

No, my order was nearly a month ago. They had promised to send a replacement last Wednesday. Don't know if it was sent then but it's here today.

Just installing now and hopefully will have my Vista nightmares behind me.
  • Just found this thread - wish I'd looked before ordering. The phone number doesn't go through to the comapany now so I'll just have to hope they reply to my email!

I ordered Windows 7 10 days ago, but judging from the posts on here that isn't very long to wait!
  • Its now saying that Win 7 pro is a preorder for 7th Dec, thats over a month since i ordered mine

Two more days without a delivery. When I ordered Windows 7 on Nov 8th. the web site said it was in stock !!!

Is anybody else getting concerned that this company is looking more and more suspect?

3 more days of waiting and now I have received this e-mail from them. I am getting more and more fed up.

Apologies for the delay but you should have received your copy of Windows 7 Ultimate by now. I will arrange to have another copy sent out. It will be sent by Royal Mail in the morning. In order to ensure you know which is your replacement copy I'll mark it with a blue X on the back of the envelope.
If in the meantime you receive the first package could you please mark it return to sender on the envelope or return it to:
SAM UK Dept 150 47 Botanic Ave Belfast BT7 1JJ
(I'll wait until next Friday before expiring the existing product key)
  • Are you sure this company is legit? I ordered Windows 7 upgrade on the 7th of November and my account said it was dispatched and I would get it in 3-5 days. Then they said it was on pre-order and would be available on 15th Nov.
On the 15th they said the 26th and on the 26th they said 6th Dec. What do you bet that on the 6th it will be another 10 days? What a farce, does it take Microsoft over a month to get a copy of their own software?

It's beginning to sound like a scam to me, are they really this incompetent? Even if I get the software I won't be buying anything from these clowns again, and I'll be warning the people at my school from using them. It's not surprising that people pirate software when they make it so hard to buy legit versions.

Success at last. Our copy of Windows 7, ordered on the 8th Nov is finally here, delivered on the 28th Nov.
  • Ordered ours it arrived in a week works perfectly no problems :money:

Although considerably off-topic, I would point out that those people who qualified for, and paid £27.90 for, the 'free' Windows 7 upgrade for new Toshiba laptops, were told that the disks would be with them "in the middle of November" and have just received an email giving the "estimated delivery date" as 16th December... "Problems with the drivers DVD" is the most recent excuse.
  • After many emails back and forth I received this today with regards to an order of Windows 7 Pro 64bit upgrade placed on Nov-4th:

Thank you for your recent email, I hope this will answer your queries in relation to your order.
I would like to refer you to our terms and conditions:

On receipt of the pre-ordered product from the supplier, Software4Students will release the product on a first order first dispatch basis. All pre-order items are paid once the order is placed. Software4Students can accept no responsibility for delays caused by non provision of product by the originating supplier.
Unfortunately, Microsoft changed the shipping date for the product which is out of our control. We have updated our website on a regular basis to keep customers informed of the expected shipment date.
Most of our customers receive their orders within 3 to 5 working days. However, due to varying factors out of our control, there may be occasions when deliveries are delayed. With regards to pre-order products we can only dispatch the product once it is in stock and from there the delivery time frame is 3/5 working days.
Once we get the Windows 7 professional in stock on 4th December we will send you a copy and it should be with you next week. If you would prefer not to wait we can cancel and refund the order.
