This is starting to give me the hump, ordered win 7 on 7th Nov and 2 days later had a despatch email, with a delivery date of 3 to 5 days, those days came and went so I left it till the 17th to email them, they claimed that it would be despatched and would be with me in 5 days, so 8 days later nothing, dropped them an email yesterday and didnt even get a "we will get back to you email".

Funny thing is for the price if they had told me it would be a month then I would accept it as there is no tearing hurry as I have bought it to go on my step daughters netbook at xmas, but it gets on my goat when im lied to about despatch dates which come and go with no product.

Ahh well rant over

The status dispatched applies to orders that have been validated and approved as per Microsoft requirements. They then are sent to packing and postage via Royal Mail. As this is a pre-order product we will update you when the product has been shipped from Microsoft.

I ordered my copy of Windows 7 on 1st November. I received the email about the lost in the post copies and waited for the replacement. On Monday after the postman had been I emailed them to say I had still not received my software, They replied yesterday to let me know they are now sending out a third copy! I'm still waiting today. What is happening here? Should they not now be sending things out by recorded or registered post, or even via a courier if they claim so many items are being lost by Royal Mail.

I just spotted this paragraph though in the blog on their website --- 'Popularity will always cause stock issues when it comes to a product with unprecedented demand, an issue that Software4Students and Microsoft have had to deal with to the best of our abilities this month in relation to Windows 7 orders.' --- I wonder what this is all about?

How can mail sent out on different days have gone missing? And since they've coughed up to 'unprecedented demand' and 'pre-ordering' that pretty much confirms that the stock didn't exist and all this lost mail stuff is blarney. I'd rather they had just been honest about it.

I had another email today and they now claim that win 7 has always been on pre-order, in other words they have never actually had stock, or they've had very little.

As I said previously if they had said when I ordered it that it would be a month I wouldnt have a problem with it but I just dont like being messed about

According to their software blog and their twitter feed "Customer trust & confidence is hard to build up and easy to lose."

Hmmm...so they have time to post about football on twitter but they don't have time to send emails to customers keeping them informed of their order status?

I don't think they've quite grasped the customer confidence thing.

Waiting 21 days is too long, I would have rather picked it out of tescos if I had known it would take that long.

I ordered around the same time. I e-mailed them yesterday, and got the same reply as the one quoted in post 95.
