LX - Telephone Talk Unlimited Including line rental.
    L - Broadband 10MB
    M - TV

    £31

Now have added £7 for TV choice.
    So total is £38.

Could I do better? When I ask to leave they just say that they could not better the offer I got when I joined & negotiated my deal when I joined the company.

Been with virgin for a few years now, on a decent package.

Would recommend XL tv to everyone, especially with a a V+ box to record / HD channels.

    Current package..

XL Tv (Includes ESPN - Premiership Games)
    M BB (10MB)
    M Telephone (weekend calls free)

£35 per month, £5 per month discount applied as long as we dont downgrade from what we have.

Overall £30 per month (out of contract)

Also, have a 02 £20 p/m simplicity (30 day contract) mobile phone which has 800mins to anyone, free weekend calls, 1200 texts. We use this as the landline & my mobile. Wife has 02 PAYG which little use. There are lower tarrifs £10 etc, and we should reduce it.

    Last years deal was...

    XL Tv
    M BB
    M Phone
    Free V+ box
    Free V+ box installation
    Free Phone line installation
    Free HMDI Cable
Free resite of old box upstairs (not ment too)

    £29 per month.

Ring them up, tell them cash is tight. Your cutting back and wondering what they have etc.

Though, last time we wanted a gr8 deal, we had to cancel. Give the 30days thing.

Then about 10 days before deal end, we started having missed calls. Googled the number. Was virgin media retentions dept. In the end they got hold of us, and we talked a few times over the deals. And got the above.

We cancelled in the frame that we had 30 days notice to give, therefore if it got to 29days and still no deal. We would ring up and accept them for another month, call there bluff...

After all, your off to FreeSat.. ;)

Virgin Media are charging us about £25 for their L (10Mb) broadband that new customers can get for £5 for the first 3 months and then £14 thereafter! The cheek of it!

I looked on their website and new customers can get XLL (50Mb) broadband for £35 (with an £11 phoneline, which we already have). I went through the route as an existing customer and it quoted a price of £52!! And we have the phoneline! A new customer can get XLL for £50 without the £11 phoneline.

I'm going to get my dad to call them up Monday and tell them he's leaving due to the customer disloyalty and that he will only stay if they reduce the price of the L broadband OR offer XLL broadband for £35 a month like new customers can get.

Not many people with Virgin probably know how much they are getting ripped off! I'd happily do a mini-investigation for MSE that will get put in the email so people can pay a FAIR price for something that new customers get cheaper (indefinetly). It's not as if the cheaper price for new customers is temporary to get them in, it's permanent!

I’m mystified as to why some relatively new customers on here are getting what they consider to be good deals.

I’ve been with them thirteen years since ntl days, and they mercilessly take the mickey with my business. I’ve never once missed a payment. I thought I was a good customer.

Further to my #741 above, I got a call today following yesterday’s telephoned complaint. I thought, ‘great! Someone is going to do something!’ Oh no! He’d worked out a ‘deal’ for me at only £12 a month more I could keep what I’ve got AND have the 10meg broadband immediately.

When I said they’d promised me exactly that back in April for no more money a month, and since then they’ve put my bill up 10%, he really couldn’t understand what my complaint was!

He then said I might not even get the 10meg by Christmas! What moronic marketing people VM are employing.

I have to conclude now that the pretend upgrade to 10meg is just a scam to get you on the phone complaining so they can dazzle you with new contracts.

I would have thought that if you dislike them so much you would have realised by now and moved to another supplier.

It’s only since they became VM that they’ve deteriorated into such complete self-abusers. As I’m moving house I can’t sign up with any alternative supplier with out incurring a new contract.

That’s probably overall why Virgin are treating me like something they trod in.

I just feel that MSEers would want to know what sort of company they are signing up with. I notice you chose not to quote the red bit…

Why not go for the VIP package XLTV,XL phone,XL broadband with Sky Sports and movies. With your 2 additional boxes ,your cost would be £98 per month and you would still have your V+ box and 3 additional normal boxes.
