    I got my new 12 month contract today. I was on small and got their "free" upgrade to 10mb. Rang up for a better deal and go the 6 months at £14 and 6 months at £18. I did not realise that part of the deal was getting moved to L for BB. Without the discounts the cost is £25 a month. I must remember to ring them up in 12 months before the £25 per month kicks in.
    On my speed test I am showing up 10MB. Perhaps they have not upgraded me yet. I take it that it should be 20MB.

    No mate for that price you will probably get the 10meg max. You may be able to squeeze them down a bit to £14 for that package which they have done for many people and some have even got it for £aroundd £10-12. I have managed to get the S package 2MB for £5-8 depending on if they keep to the deal they gave me :D

    If it is called L why is it still 10MB which is what I previously has anyway?:confused:

    The free upgrade was for was size M which went to 10MB. They already upgraded the L package a while ago from 4meg to 10meg!

    Even though the speeds are the same the L package has a higher limit before throttling takes place, compared to the uprated M package.

    Move along, nothing to see.

    Hi
    just wondering the £5-8 for small bb does that include the lland line charge or not?

    also i've been kept on my current M package (do u think this'll increseto 10
    MB when my area is due?) and land line free week end calls to ll. for £12.50 seems ok to me. They are going to put on a recuring discound to to get it reduced to this price. ( i haven't had any thing "physical" yet though, it's all verbal, i'm a bit sceptical!)

    Thank you

    My £5-8 does not include line rental. I do not have a line installed. If you are on the M package, you should get the speed boost to 10meg. In one of my posts I have put a link as to the upgrade schedule so have a look for it. The best you can get for the M phone and 2meg BB is around £15 which is a deal they were doing a year or so ago.

    Just rang Virgin and threatened to leave and got a good deal!

    Unfortunately this forum just wiped out my full essay which I had wrote in joy as to the offer I got but here it is:

    * L BB
    * L Telephone
    * XL TV with FREE V+ HD box (installed and setup for free)
    * Line rental

    = £31.50 pm

    Plus offered me one months free line rental or one months sky movies for free - I went for line rental as already member of love film.

    Seems like a good deal and I am happy to stay for a further 12 months with them as a result as service has always been fab and customer service on phone b good too!:T

    Hi MRT_2009,

    Could you please advise on:

    1: Which package/deal you had before?
    2: What reason did you give VM for wanting to leave?
    3: Did you compare any Sky package deals?

    I suffer with anxiety anytime I'm on the phone with VM, so help would be appreciated, thankyou. :)

    p.s. I have sent you a PM also.

    That is a heck of a deal. I might try for that myself
    Oh what's the bloody point...?
  • My story:
    Was only broadband L and phone L for £30. Phoned 150 to "discuss my bill". Person on the phone says there was nothing I could do. Phoned 150 again and picked the "cancel" my services for "other reasons". I just said it was too expensive and talktalk were offering £19 for 8Mb broadband (make sure to mention something like this because all the of VM people will tell you that VM is awesome because of cable). Immediately was offered £23 a month instead. I tried to get it lower but got nowhere.
