Just canceled VM.
We have 150meg BB,XL TV,extra box,evening & weekends calls and Sky movies.
Told them I wanted to drop to just BB & TV. Best deal offered was £70 for 200meg BB and XL TV.
However it was then brought up I would need to pay £9.99 for the new hub for 200 meg BB.
An upgrade I am due anyway in August. I was told this was mandatory and I would be paying this on my 'free' upgrade anyway.
Apparently its okay as it would be in my bill and I wouldnt notice it....:rotfl:0 -
Currently paying £33 for 100 meg BB with 150meg at the end of the month.
How does that compare to everyone else on BB only?
Is it worth a phonecall?0 -
Just went through the whole saga for my dad. Anyway details Talk unlimited Extra - Basically unlimited calls anytime to any network including mobiles 50 meg BB £25 per month This includes line rental which they just credited his account with a years line rental saver. I had to give the 30 days cancellation notice to get this.
When talking to the "thinking of leaving pre to full cancel department" the very nice lady told me "Oh I see you have tried to get discount before im afraid we can't do anything for you...He was paying £50+ per month for the above. When I mentioned that we could get the service we receive from Virgin for just £30 per month from Talk Talk or Sky she retorted "Were not Talk Talk or Sky sir....Would you like to issue a months cancellation notice AGAIN like you did a few months ago ? (This is because I had "cancelled" a few months previous but my father lives alone and couldn't/didn't want to deal with the negotiating and they wouldn't call me so I had to cancel the disconnection the day before it was due to go off.) But alas this time I was on holiday at my fathers house so was able to cancel and had actually initiated the moving my number over to Talk Talk process...It was only after Virgin got notification from TT that they wanted the phone number that retentions called me with a much more conciliatory tone lol....Anyway all's well that ends well.....And to the VM outgoing retentions YES I will be giving the one months cancel notice this time next year and will continue to do so until you treat long term customers as you do new customers.0 -
100 mb m+ tv evening and weekend calls tivo box caller id just over £27 a month all in.I've just given VM notice. I was paying £53 for bb,landline and M TV I think.
She didn't offer any money off. I could get less TV for £42 but I've got freeview so don't need basic TV.
The rate for bb alone would be £30 a month and about the same for landline + bb. So no discount.
Looking at other peoples moans about the reliability of other providers, wondering if I should stick with VM bb. At least its reliable.
I cancelled last week. Do retentions ring up again to offer a discount or is that it?
They used to be more generous when I rang up to cancel. They must not be bothered anymore at keeping customers.
Hi rainbow
what happened in the end? I'm just about to cancel and was told the same as you.0 -
Just called retentions now. Have just over a month to go with my contract so couldn't threaten to leave.
However they offered: Big Kahuna bundle
200Mb BB
XL TV
Phone talk weekends
For £61/month for 12 months including line rental cost
They also offered "free" Netflix and Sky movies for 6 months
And credit on account for £85
So net monthly cost effectively £54/month.
I didn't take it as thought I'd wait until I was in my last month to threaten to cancel. Am I likely to get much better?0 -
