    Hi All,

I posted on this thread a few months back and thanks to some useful advice I was able to get a good deal on my broadband only package.

I am now looking to negotiate a deal for a family member who has been on the same bundle for a number of years and I am sure they are paying over the odds. I don't have much experience of what is a good deal with bundles so was hoping someone could suggest what I should aim for. This is the current bundle:

    Thanks in advance.

    Wow that's pricey!
As an example and something to aim for, I just negotiated for one year:-

    TV XL
    PHONE XL
    BB 100 MB
    TIVO BOX
    EXTRA HD BOX
all for £50 per month line rental included. Some on here have even negotiated better than that but I'm more than happy with that price.

Yours looks like a really good deal in comparison, especially with line rental included!

Hopefully I can help reduce their bill as they are clearly being ripped off

The only real drawback as Visidigi has stated many times is that you have to be prepared to cancel to get the best deals.

Watch out for giving you those good deals and then the price hikes. I got M TV,weekend phone calls and 50 broadband for 30something. Cant remember exactly. which rose to £53 after sneaky hikes.

    Sneaky?

Nah, they email and letter most hikes and most hikes allow you to leave without penalty if you do so within the notice period...

Just to let you all know that I gave my 30days notice a few weeks back for my 50mb broadband and weekend phone line as my years contract was coming to an end.

I got a call last week from the VM retentions team and was offered £5 a month for broadband and £184 if line rental paid upfront. I was also offered £7 a month for 100mb. I stuck to my guns and turned this down as I still believe it was a bit expensive.

I received a further call today and was offered the 100mb for £7 still but the 50mb was offered for £3 a month which I accepted.

so my total yearly cost will be £184 plus £36= £220

    So you're actually paying £18.33 a month...

Just so people don't get confused by your numbers.

No phonecall yet after cancelling a week ago ...

Offered m phone, xl tv (tivo) and 100 bb for £48 (12 mths) (already had this package)
or else taking L tv and keeping everything else the same for £37 (12 mths)

Happy with the £37 deal - could I have done better though? :o

Mine cancels next week.....still no call. Seems paying £85 a month just isn't enough to bother trying to keep my business.

*UPDATE* Called them up. Apparently the reason I haven't had a call is due to me being on the TPS, therefore no call. Im not convinced. They then went on to say if I was to actually leave and request my number to port, that would trigger a call?? Not sure how or why. Very helpful agent agreed its laughable and should fingers crossed get a call tomorrow AM. lets see!

    CC limits £26000

    Long term CC debt £0

Total low rate loan debt £3000

    Almost debt free feeling, priceless.

Ex money nightmare, learnt from my mistakes and never going back there again, in control of my finances for the first time in my adult life and it feels amazing.

Well very disappointing. No call as promised. Spoke to the cancellation team again, 100% wont get a call from retentions apparently, all pot luck (their words) and if i want to reduce package I have to resign for 12 months. Told them to revoke cancellation and i will be off to sky ASAP. On principle. Disgraceful treatment and they're losing my business after 7 yrs
