I am having problems as well trying to figure out who to go with! i think sky have better customer service but virgin has all catch up so big benefits!!
All depends on the services that you want and what they can offer you. Am just about to ring Virgin and cancel my broadband/phone in an effort to get a better deal. Unfortunately there are no plans for BT to upgrade the lines to Infinity in my area so my broadband alternatives are pretty poor. Will give them a ring though and exaggerate on my alternatives and more than likely cancel in an effort to be offered a better deal.0 -
I had to phone back in the end as they did not call me with a better offer.
I got upfront line rental at £120 for the year and £11.50 a month for XL broadband (60mb) free new hub delivered by post for me to connectLife is not the way it’s supposed to be. It’s the way it is. The way you cope with it is what makes the difference.0 -
Currently paying £30 for 30mb broadband only, no other packages phone/tv. Pay direct debit, ebiling etc. and out of contract. Tried customer services and told I could get my free upgrade, that was originally due July just gone, but for £30 and new contract! New customers sign a new contract for 12 months at £27.50 per month. Declined this offer of being tied down for 12 months paying more than a new customer. Will try and contact Virgin again, surely they are ripping me off as currently 30mb is being given to new customers at £22.50 (BBand only, no phone)
I called them up saying going to switch to Tmobile/Orange Broadband with line rental included so get home phone(Which I have no need for) they immediately offering me a new deal of £17.50 a month if agreeded to 12 month contract. Just say you are going to switch and they will match it.0 -
Agree, well worth phoning. I was offered the same £17.50 if agreed to new 12month contract. I accepted £22.50 and no new contract for 30mb, as didn't want to be tied down, you don't know what they might be offering new customers in a few months time0

Morning folks, I'v got an 18 month internet & phone contract with Virgin, however I'm moving home now after only 12 months. I've realised the 'residential services contract' they sent me in the post was never signed and returned, and they've never chased this.
I'm not sure I want to use Virgin at the new home as the internet speeds in the area are really slow and I'll be paying loads for little. Can I legally terminate my contract early with no comeback because they never received a signed copy of the contract by me? I don't want to screw them over however I also don't want to be screwed over when I move, its only another 12 month contract so I'll get the same again in a year!
Any expert advice appreciated!:)0 -

With Virgin today I agreed a package of £120 up front payment for 12 months line rental = equiv of £10 pm. Cable Internet (large) and eve/wkend calls for £7.60. Total Equates to £17.60 pm. Hope that helps someone.0

I've been with Virgin National for my broadband for about 13 years.
Received a letter yesterday to say that my monthly charge will go up by £3 a month. Which will make it £26.35 a month. Just for national broadband.
I called to say that I was thinking of moving to a different provider and the guy offered to reduce my monthly payments by £3 for 12 months. Basically therefore it would stay the same and I wouldn't be paying the increase. I asked for the MAC code to be sent to me.
I think I can get Unlimited from O2 at the moment for £12.50 a month with three months free. This is for up to 16mb. Currently I'm on up to 8mb with Virgin.
What I'd really like is Virgin fibre optic, what do you think the chances are of getting 60mb at the same, or similar price that I'm paying now, possibly with free installation, or is that pushing it?0 -
Hi Everyone,
Just thought I would share my experiences of Virgin to help anyone who is looking for a good deal. Also maybe you can confirm whether I can get a better deal or not
I rang Virgin the other day and said I'm moving to Sky. They offered me the following:
30MB BB
Talk Unlimited
Caller Display
For £20.50 per month.
The above includes discounts for E-billing and Line Rental Saver.
What do you guys reckon? Good deal or not? I would prefer it just to be under £20 rather than over. Also would like to get Call Waiting as well so I asked them to put that in for free but they refused. Is there anything else I should ask for?0
