So its that time for me!
    current package VM :-

    XL TV
    XL BB
    L PHONE
    2 X V+ BOXES
    0845/0870
    CALL BAR
    TRIPLE COMBO LOYALTY DISCOUNT
TOTAL COST £60.50 (WILL RISE IN APRIL TO 65-66.)

So i am out of contract did the `thinking of leaving` calll and they can`t do anything so i asked about the value of the discount. I am told the discount is 38.50! so in short VM are saying package is really worth £99.45 before discount !!!! errrrrrmmmm don`t think so. I did say to retentions that my package is not 99.45 or near that to which her response was i don`t know what the prices are you would have to speak with sales. Just to recap xl tv no movies or sports.

30days notice given and a heart felt message to neil berket (ceo) to which i got a reply (within 2hrs) that my case is getting looked at and i will get a call in next 24hrs. (lets see).

So guys what do you think????? whats your deal ????
    thanks

    so my update.....

Also i would add that i have never quoted other users deals and would not advise anyone to do this as they will just denie and tell you imposible. if you have a genuine issue that you feel 150 c/s are not helping the goto ceo office with complaint again email :- neil.berkett@virginmedia.co.uk

I rang wednesday I'm currently on
    L TV
    XL BB
    V+HD
    PHONE LINE
    £39.91

Contract ends in april so lose my £9.99 recurring credit
    + with £3.50 april increase
    = £53.40

They could only get it down by £2 to £51.40 !!
So put my cancellation notice in for free with the price increase.

Got a call of retensions just now, He couldn't get it any lower then £51.40 saying there not allowed to add recurring credits anymore.

So i managed to get standalone 10mb BB for £14 which increase to 30mb in a few months apparently with our super hub, (would only be a increase to 20mb without super hub)

Seems a good deal to me?
Just got to find a nice Freeview HD recordable box now, Job Done
    Wales for ever.....

that is good for bb only. still think you may get a call regarding tv package. end of the it would have hurt me to leave because best speed i would get via land line would be 5mb at best were as i have 30mb and its never dipped below 20mb as yet.

    Hello everyone.

I currently have Large Broadband with Free Weekend calls.
I pay £24.95 a month which includes the line rental.

I have had this deal for a few years when i got rid of the tv and got a freeview box (price was £18.95 all in back then)

Just got the letter to say price increase of £3.15 per month so £28 and change per month. Anyone manage to get cheaper or am i at the low end anyways.

Please could someone help. I too have just received a letter through the post stating that from April 1st 2012 I will have my contract increased by £3.50.

    Current Plan & Prices:

    TV: XL
    Phone: XL
    Broadband : L
    Tivo 500gb Box
Current Price: £50.90 (will increase to £54.40 in April)

Is this a reasonable price to pay for the above package and if not what price would you 'experts' ;) deem fair and reasonable? I have been a Virgin Media customer for 5 YEARS!!

    Many, many thanks :D

Just phone Virgin Media to cancel my Broadband as I can't justify £21.00 (soon to be £22.50) for 10Mb download speed. I've decided to swtich to BT Infinity.

Spent 5 minutes listening to the advisor tell me how bad BT are. When I explain it was better value for money he immediately confirmed my disconnection date and ended the conversation.

I don't think I'll be getting a call back from the retentions team :rotfl:

From post by PParka above, I think Virgin have given up

I am on Virgin ADSL [not cable], Virgin wanted to increase from £7.45 to £12.80 next month

Obviously not acceptable to me. In previous years I have phoned up and arrived at a reasonable figure, but not this year, in fact they suggested around £20 was a good idea

    So, goodbye Virgin, hello Plusnet

Just got my letter staing £2.10 price increase from April.I m not pleased so sent a complaint letter to state that i thought the FREE speed upgrade was deceiving because there is now a price increase in April.I told them that if they increase my bill i will look elsewhere, thats phone broadband and 3 mobile phone all on Virgin, so that quite of bit of custom they would lose. Also stated i would complaint to the OFT and Trading Standards about the price increase and the way they stated that the speed increase was free of charge, also asked them to justify moving the free phone calles to 7 pm from 6 pm.
    I await there reply.
