    Hi,

    I am wanting the following...

    XL BB with Hub router
    M TV with Tivo 500gb
    No Phone
No Connection Charges . Activiation fees

Is it reasonable to get this for £30 per month? Just want to be informed before I call Virgin. If not, how much approx a month is reasonable charge for this package?

    Thanks

As visidigi said, it depends if you are with virgin already, if you are a new customer you won't really have any flexibility with the prices as you will get the new customer rates. The deals on here are more loyalty deals for customers who stay with Virgin and renew their contracts which have expired.

I also agree that it is usually cheaper to get a bundle as a whole and not use a particular part of it, than to try and get a bundle excluding something.

Just for reference the following deals are available to new customers:

    http://shop.virginmedia.com/bundles/tv-broadband-and-phone/phm-tvmp-bbl.html

L BB, M+ TV, M Phone, Tivo Box, Free installation and activation.

    £23 pm, + £13.90 Line rental, so £36.90 pm. 18m contract.

    or

    http://shop.virginmedia.com/content/allyours/en_gb/home/bundles/broadband-and-tv/tvl-bbl.html

L BB, L TV, Tivo Box, Free installation and activation.

    £36 pm.

    If you wanted your deal,

    XL BB, M TV = £46.50 pm + £49.95 installation/activation charge

I would also just say, M TV is basically freeview.

I have been existing customer for 3 years and currently paying £35 month for L BB and L TV and I dont even have a V+ box, very old standrd box.

So, even though new package of XL BB, M TV = £46.50 pm + £49.95 installation/activation charge...do youo think that the retentions would be able to bring down to £30 or is that asking too much?

    Thanks

You can get them to remove the activation/installation fee by quoting to retention that its free for new customers so you don't want to pay it. Given the list price is £46.50 and you only have two services with little leeway I think you are going to struggle - I think £38-£40 is much more likely from the retention team (the I'm thinking of leaving option) - if they cannot get close to that then go ahead with the disconnection - you have 30 days to call back and cancel it.

In the meantime they may call you to offer you a deal - please note the call back from loyalty is not guaranteed - I would recommend you negotiate a deal with retention, if you don't like the offer go ahead with the disconnection request but ASK the agent you are speaking to to note down the offer they have made - that way if the loyalty call doesn't happen then you do have part of an offer to fall back on...

All, some advice please. Been with Virgin for 12 months. Good service.

Gave notice on Monday - phone call from retentions.
    Currently for £68 a month:
    M TV
    Sky Sports
    HD
    Phone Weekends Only
    Broadband 10mb.

    Offered today:

    TV Med
    Sky Sports
    HD
    Evening and Weekend Calls
    10Mb Broadband
    Tivo

    for £59, 12 months.

What are peoples thoughts? Is TIVO a step up? Should I be asking for more?

I am happy at 59 a month cost but should i ask for another bolt on - maybe - putting my old box in bedroom? Upgrade broadband? XL Tv??
  • I managed to shave another £7/month off my bill (I was genuinely going to get rid of my phone/BB from VM and go elswhere).

XL TV (I stuck with my V+ box, resisting TIVO ATM...)
    L BB
Phone with anytime calls (which I'm hammering now :D)

    Second STB

    £51/month
...and then the window licker said to me...

  • OK. We have L TV, Sky Sports, M phone and M TV and pay £68.

We're moving house next week, so I want to call, get it cut down and change it slightly.

What do I do? Go through retentions even though we need a fresh install?

    We want:

    M TV - Sky Sports
    M Broadband
    M Phone
Tivo and Spotify would be nice, as would L BB.

How much should I be looking at getting that for as a VM? We want to pay about £55ish really for the bill if possible.

Also, what option should I call baring in mind we need to move the account to a new address?

    Thanks for any help.

Move to VIP 50 - go through the cancellation request, you should get offered £86.46 a month for XXL BB, XL Phone, 1TB tivo and your V+ moved which I got offered...I've seen others on avforums who have got the same deal as me...

I don't know what they may offer you to stay/transfer your services, but Froggybank (another cashback site, similar to Quidco and TCB) are offering £140 sign up for Virgin Media for the next 3 days. Remember you have to give 30 days notice so you have left it a little late to cancel your current service if you are moving next week.
