Online yes, but retentions can waive the installation cost, but could never waive the TiVO cost
They cannot waive/reduce that fee but can credit account as a goodwill gesture. Same apply to superhub fee, etc.
Final effect to the customer's pocket is the same as waiving fee.

My deal is pretty bad in comparison to others cos I was on:
    XL BB (20)
    XL phone
XL TV with 2 boxes (V+HD and VHD)
for £61.40 (price upped bit by bit by about 4-5 quid during the course of the year)
plus Sky Sports and Movies for £29.50
    Total monthly bill was £90.90

After usual route (cancelling and then they calling back after a while) got:
    XL BB (20) plus superhub
    M phone + 200 0845 mins
XL TV with 2 boxes: (Tivo 500 and V+HD)
Sky Sports and Movies in HD
for £89.90 plus Tivo fee £49.90 (offset by £30 goodwill gesture)

In essence I got what I wanted (Tivo + Sky in HD) but lost XL phone.
After deducting £36.50 for Sky the new package is priced at £53.40.
Some of you got better offers (with 30Mb BB and/or L/XL phone) for under £50.

I currently have the following package with VM:

    TV XL
    PHONE XL
    BROADBAND XL (20MB)
    V+ HD BOX
    ADDITIONAL STANDARD BOX

    £61.40 p/m

    (...)they offered me:

    TV XL
PHONE M (I don't use it so knocked it down)
    BROADBAND XL (20MB)
V+ HD BOX (got rid of additional box as I don't use it enough)
    Sky Sports Package

    £67.40

Apparently they have had all their discounts taken off them so this is the best they can offer, I'm not convinced. Is this a reasonable deal? I'm going to hang on and try for a better offer...
Looks to me like £2 deal.
Reducing your package by £14.50 (£8 for XL phone and £6.50 for 2nd box) and adding £22.50 for Sky Sport should increase your bill by £8 but you will pay only £6 more.

Unfortunately nothing is forever and the price you are offered may rise during your contract (I am paying £2 more than we agreed less than a year ago due to line rental rises). Are they tying you to a new 12 or 18 month contract?

Assume they have offered you XL tv or is it a lower package?

    Seems a good deal.

Are you sure about the 0845 numbers? It's not listed in their Talk Unlimited plan, where under calling costs it says...
UK landlines (numbers beginning 01, 02 or 03, not other numbers such as those beginning 084, 070)
That's my biggest gripe with VM. They stitch you up on 0845 numbers, charging an 11.24p connection cost plus 10.22p per minute, rounded up to the next full minute of course. 0870 numbers have only recently been included in the plan.

Been with NTL/VM for more than 10years, currenty I have the following
    TV- M BB- L Phone- L Asian Mela £11

All that comes down to £44.90, which I think is extremely high especially when they give tv M+ to new customers and I would have to pay for this.

Anyone think there maybe better offers around, with tivo and improved tv?
Called retentions and they offered tv upgrade to M+ and that would be a total of £40.
    Should I take the deal???

    Hi,
Any thoughts on the way forward?
    L Broadband
    XL Phone
paying £29.99 per month no contract - VM for 15 years now, back to Telewest days!

    OFFERS

Sky and BT offering above for 17.99 and 25.50ish.
(Also got VM sim only 30 day rolling mobile - 300 mins, 30 txts and 1g internet - for 8.24.
Need a new mobile and don’t want to long term mobile deal if I need to change bband/phone supplier.)
VM offered phone/bband for 23.40 (in line with what other posters here have) and a free all in one modem. No offer to increase speed and no mention of contract duration. (This was earlier this week before the latest deals came out)

    PLAN

Currently use freeview recorder for tv (don’t have hd tv) and don’t have any VM tv recorder.
Been looking at the following options
    - Get an internet tv and just use the iplayer, 4Od etc. Not sure if I’ll need more than 10mb for this to work
    - TV wise partner is only really interested Sky Living (comes with all vm packages) and Atlantic (thought was Sky only, but have heard it can be bought on VM). So go to Sky to get these or pay what on virgin?
    - If I get VM tv do I always get a recorder with it?

Any pointers would be welcome - and I’ll research and post back,

    Cheers,
    Andyfff
