I think you have to have a phone line with them to get the best overall deals. The £37.19 deal you quoted was what I got and posted previously.

A very important point is the phone line, because they claw the money back with high call charges.
e.g. offered me L BB for £15.99 with phone line, £15 for BB alone.
    i am on the now-defunct 'S' plan, paying £15/m for 2mb.

i phoned up and gave it the 'I'm cancelling routine'

to which the bloke said 'alright then.'

    GAZZAX

I'd say that's well over the odds.

That's more or less what they said to me, I was on £10 for M, BB only.
I did get a call back, but when I made it clear I didn't want their phone, they left me alone, now on O2.
    Their loss!
They're getting tougher, but market forces are tougher still.
    Move along, nothing to see.

    Hi Gazsharpe101,
I called to cancel the TV part of my package and get a price for just landline and Internet. The woman I spoke to that night didn't really have a clue and gave a ridiculous price and suggested I phone cancellations in the morning.
I phoned 150 then 2 then 2 to get through and she cnacelled for me with 30 days notice and arranged a date for the box to be removed - no problems.
Since then we have had a few call from them but since they insist on speakint to other half - they have not managed to get him at home so I don't know what they may have been going to offer

if im not misteaken, as long as you know the account details (password) they can speak to you aswell. At least that way you will get some sort of offer. the last thing you want , is comming up to your cancelation date and not having any offers on the table

hi all, just got a call from retentions.
    got offered

    XL TV
    2 x V+ boxes
    L Telephone
    L Broadband
    250mins 0845/0870
    Wireless router

    £38.74 pm

so the deals are out there, maybe not the best deal thats been offered so far, but im happy with it.

Ive been with them a long time, I mentioned this deal, she said she couldn't do it so I said cancel it. Colection is January 25th between 12 and 6 pm. I currently get charged £108.80 less £33.95 discount. £74.95 per month. It is just to expensive.
    nothing.

If I was to give my 30 day notice in today say, if I didn't get offered anything better would I be able to change my mind and keep everything the same going forward?

I am just looking to get it reduced to maybe half price or including sports for £30 p/m or something.

Does giving your notice guarantee a callback from retentions? What if I tell them I don't have a landline in the house at all, not even with a different provider, would they be able to check? And what about a second phone socket, I suppose I could check that out and see if I could use that with them but I don't think there is anything connected to it at all if I'm honest.

    Thanks all.

You can apparently change your mind at any point within the 30 days and stay with them so you shouldn't have anything to lose.

There is no guarantee of a callback but I suspect its pretty certain as they will want to retain your custom even if they dont offer you a deal.

Members are advised to cancel first then expect a call from retentions :wall::wall:.You could even ask another provider to come in as you can still cancel within a set contract time before they install.
Phoning 150 and asking them for a 'cracking deal or a really decent offer(like my posts) may make you save money and a little happier ,but you surely won't be popping those champagne bottle until you speak to retentions in Birmingham.
Different staff there will haggle and give you a great deal.HAGGLE
