When I spoke to VM after mentioning a Talktalk offer they offered me 10Mb Broadband, evening and weekend calls for £21.94
Anyone had a better offer than this?
£12.50 10Mb BB
£11.99 Line rental
£ 3.45 Phone L (Evenings and weekends)
£27.94 Total
So I reckon that's an good deal if you're actually getting all that for £21.94
I have free Phone L but paying for Caller Display and Paper bill which pushes my bill back up to about £28. Not that great a deal but OK .. for now..0 -

It certainly is. I made sure of that when I spoke to them.0 -

I think, as a lot of people have been saying, that Virgin are being rather tight fisted with their offers at the moment. Which is interesting as Sky have a couple of good promotions on (Though I find VM broadband too good to leave;))0 -
I am with Virgin and currently pay:
Broadband £25.00
Phone Line £11.99
Talk Anytime £7.95
total: £44.94
less discount of £18.00
Current payment: £26.940 -
I recently renegotiated my virgin package to include a landline phone, and now have the following:
Xl Broadband (20Mb)
XL TV
XL Landline (Free landline calls anytime)
Total Cost: £47.99
The above works out at an extra £1.25 a month for a landline phone compared to my broadband/TV deal.0 -

Just an update on this offer. My partner called up Virgin yesterday to confirm we would like to accept this package and the person on the other end of the phone said that this offer was not possible, and we would have to pay £3.49ish to add free evening calls.
Anyway she asked me to call them back later that evening and I told them that I had been offered my original package including evening calls for £21.49, and to go back and check their call records. After a view minutes the CS rep confirmed it was on record that I had been offered it and that they would honour the deal but it was a mistake by the original VM rep to of offered it to me.
So it serves as a reminder to ALWAYS make a note of when you called, who you spoke to and what they offered you as it could come in handy!0 -

I gotta agree. I spent a few hours trawling around trying to find a better deal with a different provider (TalkTalk, Orange, BT, etc) but looking on this forum about the service some people are getting  really make me glad to be on Virgin cable BB.
Over the last 12 months I've had no problems with phone and only a couple of hours of outages on the BB.
Just got my new contract, breakdown is:
11.99 Telephone Rental
3.45 Talk Eves/WE
2.00 Call Disp
25.00 BB L
-3.45 Talk Eves/WE Discount
-12.50 Phone/BB Discount
Total: 26.490 -
I just spoke to retentions and got the following deal:
10 mb BB
Free off peak telephone
Line rental
XL TV
£39.24
I asked if he could throw in Picture Box for free, he agreed to give me 2 months free Picture Box.
I have been paying £60.49 for the last 2 years so a decent saving by reducing from 20mb BB and dropping Talk Unlimited which I didnt really need. Interested to see if I notice the difference with the internet!0 -
:(Been with VM since it was NTL. I use cable BB only.
Ever since the VM takeover, I've called retentions each year, in July, and negotiated my BB costs. Last year it was £11.50 a month, and I was told to call in July to renew the deal.
I called on 2nd July, noted the CS's name, time and everything said.
I was told I was on a recurring credit for as long as I took the service, and out of contract! Great, I thought....no need to go through this every year from now on.....
Lo and behold....today up popped my e mail stating my online bill was available....and the cost had shot up to £19.50 a month!!
I've just spent a wasted hour on the phone to VM, firstly to Customer Services, who agreed from the notes that the person I spoke to (and named correctly) had indeed said that I was on a recurring credit.....but in his notes he'd put that he'd told me not to worry, and that I would receive the credit "for some time yet...."!
I asked them to pull the call.
She then put me through to retentions, and she said they would have to honour the deal.
The retentions CS wasn't having any of it, and said I could have the BB for £14.50 a month.
I asked to speak to a manager, and I asked them to pull the call. The manager backed up the retentions guy, and basically said that they couldn't pull the call, where I'd been told I could have the credit as long as I kept the service, as they hadn't recorded it!!
And he said he was sorry that "******" had lied!! But all he could do was cancel my contract if I didn't agree to pay £14.50 a month!
So, as it stands, I'm going to send a complaint in, but will move BB.
With all the speed throttling and outages we have had recently, perhaps it's time to change anyway!0
