Just do a bit of research first ie. different offers from rival internet providers, have these figures to hand when you ring up and explain politely that you'd be much better off going to them. It always works for me.
doesnt really work when the BB offered by bt wouldnt match what virgon provide0 -
thanks. priced up same package with sky and its no cheaper. looked as a new customer and they get 2 months for £30.95 for the same as me so might see if they'll do that for me.'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0

For those wanting to switch or negotiate you need to know about O2's deals for phone/BB coming on march:

It's an excellent deal and competition like that should really shake up the market a bit I think.0 -

But are you comparing "apples with apples"? It will be delivered by copper (with the usual speed limitations) whereas Virgin is using fibre optic cable.0 -

Just had an email from Virgin! They are putting up my XL TV package £1.50 a month, Phone Line 99p a month plus 1p more a minute on calls, broadband is going up 50p per month, but they are giving free virgin landline to virgin mobile phone calls.
I am annoyed at how they seem to sneakily up the price of your package.
I am also wondering how it always seems to be the particular components of my package that are due a price increase while other components remain free!:hello:  please play nicely children !0 -

Well O2 offer up to 20 meg, free international calls, free 0845/0870 calls. Also the first two months are free as well, oh and options such as caller ID are cheaper
Therefore if anything it's virgin who have the inferior product so it really isn't unreasonable to ask them to price match,0 -
Well i've recieved my first phone call from Virgin retentions.
Asked why i was cancelling i stated price then she went on to explain that i wouldn't get 20mb from o2 only 2mb according to Samknows. She quoted the BT rate not the LLU xDSL rate which is 20mb. A little bit naughty. Do you think i should complain about it?0 -
Is this good?
I just agreed to a 12 months renewal for an additional £3 discount per month and the free N router
I'm getting
L Broadband
XL Phone
M TV
Is this good?
For £23.49 a month.0 -
Yes that's a good deal.0
