I called yesterday - not a great deal but better than I was on!
Got M tv, L phone, L broadband for the same price as I was paying before (£32.25), but now my calls will be included to most of the numbers so it should reduce my bill by about £15 a month and mobile calls will be a bit cheaper. I was told that from April all calls to Virgin mobiles will also be included in the L package, so I won't have to pay to call my son at uni anymore either and will save a few more pennines!0 -
Hi
Through Virign retentions for £50 per month I got
20mb broadband with a free router
V+ box upgrade for down stairs (XL package)
Another virgin box for upstairs bedroom (that will be £5 per month)
Phone unlimited package (all day instead of the night time and weekend package)
Installation charge reduced from £75 (so they say) to £50
I was previously on a XL package that consisted of:-
XL TV
10 meg broadband
Phone (evenings and weekends)
My bill was usually £45-65 per month as my Mum would make a lot of day time calls so this package will work for me for one year until I move out my Mums
I hope this helps anyone"One Man Can Make A difference" Michael Knight KNIGHTRIDER0 -
At the moment - I am paying £37 a month for XL broadband - I have been a customer with Virgin for many years.
I called them up last night and asked why the broadband price was now lower on their website, and why this wasnt reflected in my bill. They said that the deal was only for new customers, but i could reduce my bill by £6 by taking a virgin phoneline (Which I dont particularly want to take)
She also informed me that I could upgrade to the 50 Meg broadband for an extra £1 per month (£38) but I would need to pay for installation and activation.
What would my fellow Moneysavers recommend I do? I know that im getting ripped off but not sure how to get around it!!0 -

I pay £40 a month, for XL broadband, basic tv, landline with daytime calls included too.
They advised me I could have 50mb b/b but also said it needs a new install and modem which would not be free, so I declined.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
through retentions i have just accepted a free v+ box ( first they told me £75 , then £49. then £30 then after still saying i wished to cancel they offered me the v+ box free) . I accepted their free V+ box, which comes bundled in with the xl tv package, L phone pack ( talk unlimited evening and weekends), and L broadband (10 meg ) , they have given me all this for £39 a month so pretty pleased.0

Hello eveyone, I am hoping for some help.
We moved recently and decided to stay with VM as the chap offered 2 months half price package if we did, ending up at £25 per month for 2 months rather than £50.
As we used to pay £21 we said ok, and he told us to call end of Jan and downgrade again so we'd go back to basic package.
I called last week to do this and the person said 'there are no notes on the system' he was really rude and then told me I couldn't complain as there was no complaints dept. He then not only downgraded us but removed our box from the system so we only had trhe main terrestrial channels, this is now sorted though.
I have written to Virgiin at the end of last week via e-mail - has anyone had this experience and have any advice please?
They are going to charge us £95 when it should be half that.MFW #185

How can I get a cheaper Virgin Deal.
I have called them, and the best I can get is
2MB Broadband
Phone L (free eve and weekends)
for £18 per month
OR
2MB Broadband
Phone L (free eve and weekends)
TV - M (same as freeview really)
for £20 per month
Or
phone L (free eve and weekends)
Broad Band 10MB - £25.95
Do I really need to actually cancel my virgin services for them to take me seriously and offer me something that is actually discounted.
Over the phone they just say that they can only offer me the price as it is on the screen and they cannot discount.
I don't really need the TV at all, but I want a better Broadband speed but do not want to pay more than £20 per month.
Thanks very much for reading0 -

ring 150 from your virgin landline and choose the option that says you are thinking of leaving- this then puts you through to the virgin media retentions dept who will or should offer you a better deal to stay with them than the general customer service team would be able to.0 -
I rang the 150 and pressed 2 twice
just earlier this evening.
We were previously paying about £34 for a 10mb broadband, telephone and free calls to landlines etc
I spoke to a chap at about 7.50 pm (right before closing) and the conversation was pretty honest and frank.
ME I'm leaving...
HIM Why?
ME Because I think I can get value elsewhere
HIM really, where?
ME Lets not beat around the bush, BT, talk talk take your pick
HIM well, talk talk are rubbish and the savings arent that big
ME but you agree there are savings then?
HIM Well yes, but
ME ok well then we're outa here, Im after saving money and you said I can by leaving
HIM well no,
ME well yeah, its cool, no hard feelings can you start the disconnection procedure please?
HIM what do you want?
ME 10mb BB, phone with evening and weekend calls for under £20.
HIM ok, £19.95
ME cool whats the tie in?
HIM 12 months
ME then I want a free wireless router
HIM sure thing one "G" on its way to you
ME No dice
HIM ok one "N" wireless router will be with you wednesday this week.
ME Sweet, but I'm not comitting to anything until I have it in writing and can see the t&cs
HIM It will all be with you wednesday
ME cool bye
HIM bye thanks for not leaving, can I sell you any other inane crap you dont want or need?
ME bye
Maybe its not the best deal but I'm happy and £15 pcm to the good, as well as a free wireless router
Mrs andy.m tried to get a deal twice before and they couldn't have been less interested, so third time lucky for us
The guy couldn't have been more polite or helpful, a credit to VM if I'm being honestSealed pot challange no: 3390 -
Hey
Wondering if anyone here can help me out.
Currently on;
-Small TV (Freeview)
-Unlimited Phone Calls
-M Broadband (10mb) but was on the 2mb, had the free upgrade
I pay £25pcm.
I have asked to upgrade to the 50mb broadband. They stated for 50mb broadband it would cost me an additional £38 ontop of what I am paying at the moment. I was thinking thats way too expensive... What about 20mb? They want an additional £22 for 20mb broadband.
Where do they get their prices from?
Can anyone help me out? Is anyone on a package like mine? I dont watch TV often, I only use phone and the internet and have got the TV because its part of the deal.
I would really appriciate any help you could give.0
