I have just started receiving bills for £45.00 rental a month for TV, BB and landline even though i signed up for the 3 for £30 deal (about 3 years ago). The last time I spoke with them was about 18 months ago to cancel and they offered me the TV XL bundle with increased BB for the same price.
SO, where the f*ck has the extra £15.00 p/month came from?? Has anyone had any similar experiencres with this mob?0 -

A similar thing happened to me - I had tv xl, BB and phone, plus an extra room box for £40, which was a deal for me about 14 months ago. Last month my bill jumped to around £65 for the same package. I was told that my discounts had run out and that I couldn't get them reinstated on my bill.
I phoned VM a few days later to cancel, as I could get a similar service with sky for £37 - 2 boxes, 6 tv packages, broadband and phone calls, and pay £12 for a BT line (I have one in my house so no reconnection charge) - therefore £49 total.
When I phoned to cancel with VM, I came away with a new 12 month contract, for the same services I currently have for £35.50 per month, with a 1 off charge of £75 for them to come and install one of those cool boxes that you can record a gazillion programmes at once.
:T
It's going to be installed this weekend.:beer:0 -

Cool?
Well it runs quite warm, is very buggy, is sluggish, doesn't have dynamic EPG like Sky so unless you add loads of padding you find it misses the beginning or end of programmes, if you do add padding you find it moans about recording programmes after each other. You will end up swearing at it most days. Don't try and use it around 01:00 as it becomes unresponsive for anywhere from a couple of minutes to 20 minutes and buffers all the remote control commands so when it begins to respond again it plays back all the commands.
Saying that it is handy to be able to record programmes - just expected to be annoyed by it often. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -
I previously just had B.B with Virgin media at £10 a month, this has recently gone up to £18 a month.
I phoned up to query this (went through to rententions) and was offered a complete package, B.B faster than i had, Phone line, unlimited calls, TV XL package all for £36 a month. So i will getting all the services from VM and saving - currently pay £20 a month to BT for line and unlimited calls, so on new deal i'm getting tv for free.
Also for £75 get all installed and a V+ box - my video broke and was looking to a digital recorder so i see this as a bargain.Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass,it's about learning to dance in the rain.0 -

I just have broadband from Virgin - my £10 a month offer has just ended. I rang up to attemt to get a similar deal again - no chance. I've given my 30 days notice. I don't actually want to leave as I don't have a phone line.
Anyone any thoughts on the best way to get cheaper broadband from Virgin now I've given notice?
Thanks!0 -

The best advice is just try again. You must have been unlucky. I rang a couple of weeks ago and got an £11 deal for 6 months. I just said other deals were better value and could they offer me any deals. Got the deal straight away.
Good Luck!0 -

Last 12 months:
£15/m for phone and broadband (+ free basic TV). With some mistake that made it £4 a month.... anyway....
Just got a bill for a full £21...
Told them to cancel telephone and TV and offer me a broadband only retention deal.
Was offered:
£10 a month for 6 months. Can cancel at any point.
or
£15/m for rest of life of contract.
Opted for £10/m and said I'll phone back in 6 months.0
