did you manage to get the same deal as your mum?
No didn't manage to get the same deal as i got my mum , bloke i spoke to didn't believe i'd got it!!! So once my mum gets her next bill you can guess who i'm phoning!!!
doesn't seem to be any consistency with the staff, so just depends on who you speak to as to what you get, but i'm of the firm belief that if you don't get it the first time you phone, then keep trying."A bargain is something you can't use at a price you can't resist." Franklin Jones0 -

I've just came off the phone to NTL. They can offer me 10MB broadband and the basic TV channels so everything but sport and movies for £35. Can anyone better this? I do want highspeed broadband but still feel this is quite a lot?0

just got off the phone to NTL cos they'd made a mess of my bill AGAIN and i told em i wasn't happy about being constantly charged twice for things, so now for £25p/m i can have the Family Pack TV, half price line rental, Call 24 for free, 2Mb broadband and no nonDD fee :j
Oh and i also got this month free cos he wiped my bill clean cos of all the carry on i've had with em!! Brilliant
And its all thanx to all the help and advice on here, so thanx everyone :beer:0 -
Phoned NTL on Monday to cancel my cable package in favour of the new Sky package. Straight away put me through to their 'retention department'. After the normal barter got new modem installation, new top box, half price family pack, £10 2M u/l BB and half price line rental. Total saving of £22 a month. Initially only offered this for 6 months but managed to secure it for twelve. £264 saving for one free threatening phone call! Modem and installation fitted today and up and running. Waiting for next months bill to find the catch.0

Got off the phone with NTL after about 45 mins on hold  Told them i wasn't happy with the price i pay for my package £41.99 For
Family Pack
2Mb broadband
Telephone
After another long wait the girl told me she could reduce this to £34.49! When i said i was still not happy with this and quoted her the Sky £26 package she price matched the deal for the next 12 months straight away even throwing in talk 24/7 for my phone.
Saving £191.88 for the year. :beer:0 -
just got off the phone to ntl.was paying 35 pounds for 10mb broadband and phone line.never even used the phone as have mobile with plenty of free mins.anyway i got rid of the phone line and all i want is cheapest price for 10mb broadband.
was given an offer by the lovely lady of 10mb for 17.50 to which i asked nicely can you reduce it to 15.00 to which she said i will reduce it to 15.50 and she added you can have this for life.so now i have 10mb broadband for 15.50 per month for ever until i want to cancel.
personally i think its a great deal, maybe someone has been offered better
deal?
im not interested in tv or phone just broadband i wanted.
hope this helps.0 -
good2talk,double check your bills and did you make a note of the girl's name??? they very rarely stick to their 'for life' patter believe me.i dunno how many times i've had to ring them over the last two yrs and since last April i was on lifetime offer which didnt run smoothly ( they can only offer deals for 3 mths at a time-but 6 if you're lucky).these credits have to be manually put into the system every mth and mishaps all along the way ( this is done by retentions).eventually i was told in Dec that they could no longer offer me the deal and it went up.but i rang COMPLAINTS ( oh it gets even funnier) and the guy said that under normal circumstances only retentions could do the offer but he'd sort it out for me and for the time being give me a £10 credit.Dec DD went out and it was too high cos the credit hadnt been applied.Jan's bill was wrong.i rang up to speak to this guy but he wasnt there so i left a message.seven days later i rang back ( no call from him) and he'd been busy but he'd sort it and ring me the next day-this was supposed to be Wed last week.still no call so i rang this afto and he wasnt there cos he's ill.in the mean time i've had BB probs.fed up of messing with bl**dy proxies and getting intermittant service.last nite after a dropped connection ( i was on the wrong server)and a call to India i was told to ring back in 2 hrs cos they had probs at the other end.so at the end of the call i did eventually get back online but the woman i found out after a bit had taken my modem off the system so it wasnt recognised-resulting in two and a half hrs with no connection.so it's still not sorted and the only option i can think of now is to ring and speak to a supervisor.i've got a headache running round in circles so i think it's somebody else's turn0

Does anyone know the best time to phone ntl retentions???
I got a really good deal a few months ago - 4 meg bb, line rental, talk unlimited 24 all for £23.49 a month and they refund the cost of a wireless router - but when I got my Jan bill these were all reset to full price (the offer was for 12 months).
Ive been ringing for the last 2 weeks different times and days and I either get the engaged tone, recorded message to call again as too busy (then cut off), or holding for between 30-50 mins but still no answer.
Will have to cancel these dd's cos I cannot afford them, and I cant get through to them to discuss

I have had Telewest as my provider for 8 years, and thought it was time to try for a better deal.
My current package is:
Telephone Line Rental: £11.00
Call Displ: £1.75
Broadband Size L (4mb): £25.00
Supreme (XL): £20.50
TV Drive: £10.00
Total £68.25 per month
Just come off the phone to them, glad I waited on hold for 30 minutes, as I was just about to hang up. Spoke to a very nice lass who offered me:
Talk unlimited + Supreme (XL) + 4mb Broadband for £34.95.
With TV Drive @£10 and Call Display@£1.75, my new monthly bill will be
£46.70.
A monthly saving of £21.55, plus I now have talk unlimited, so I am well chuffed! Was always a bit scared about phoning, but so glad I plucked up the courage, so would recommend this to anyone looking to reduce their bills.
