Thanks guys, so, should I look at swapping supplier, or has anyone managed to get Telewest to drop below the £17.99 monthly charge?0

Cashless
I have never been with NTL but I`m interested in their BB offer of 1MB for
£8-99 for three months then £17-99,free connection,free modem,unlimited downloads.
I noticed in the small print that this offer is only available when you take a phone line.
As I only want BB,is it worth phoning to try and get this offer and telling them that it`s just the BB 1MB deal I want.
The offer over a year would work out at £15-74 a month, which isn`t bad as a first step into BB for me.0 -
My daughter got the first 3 months for £8.99 offer and some of the sales team said she couldnt have it because of no phoneline but some of them said she could so I am just waiting to see what happens I will ask her how much they took out if its more than £8.99 we will complain because the man assurred her she would get it. I'll let you know, they may have taken the first month out by nowThanx

So if your daughter is only getting it for £14.99 for first 12months then I wouldn't argue!0 -
No shes not on the £14.99 a month one as that was for 512k or there abouts. The first 3 months £8.99 is on the 1mb one usually £17.99.
When it was set up we specifically said to the guy that we had been told by other sales people that we could only have 3 months at £8.99 if she had a phoneline aswell. He assured us that she would definitely get it, we told him if there was any doubts about it she would rather just go for the £14.99 one for 12 months instead so he'd better be sure. I took his name and contact number in case of any probs so I'll be back on his case if anything goes wrong
Theres an 0800 number on the sales website for NTL at the top of the pageThanx

I was referring to Telewest prices which looking at both websites then Telewest is cheaper than NTL because the £14.99 I referred to on Telewest was for the 2mb and NOT the pathetic 512k that NTL are offering for the same price.
Considering these companies are now merged, I'd have thought their prices would be more inline with each other!0 -
Just spoken to a really nice and polite lady at NTL. I asked if I could change my broadband connection a bit, to reduce my costs. From 10 meg at 34 Quid down to a cheaper tarrif. No problem you can have it at half price for 3 months Then ring again and we will do it again. Thanks too NTL::T :T :T0

I saw the Sky broadband offer. I worked out that I pay about £40 a month for TV, 1MB broadband and telephone to NTL.
I would have had to get a BT line at £11 a month to take up Sky's offer, plus the hassle of moving telephone number and email addresses. I spoke to NTL and told them I was thinking of moving. They siad they could give me their offer of TV, 1MB broadband and telephone as advertised for £30. I pointed I out I would have less channels than the Sky offer and than I have now (I have the family pack). They asked if I kept the same channels I have now and 1MB broadband and telephone for £30 would I stay with NTL. I said yes and so did they. £10 a month saved, no hassle, result.0 -
CreamCrakers wrote:1899.com have a software download which allows you to make free phone calls via your computer. It's call VoIP Cheap. It's great if you have a microphone & speakers. All you have to do is register for £1 and all the calls you make to uk are free. 0845 etc. cost but for me ringing my family and friends dont cost me a thing.
Another thing all you NTL customers out there, I rang them up saying I was leaving them for another company and they have given me their introductory 1MB broadband service for £9.99. I was paying £17.99 and they said the £9.99 was only for new customers only. All I can say is barter.
That didnt work for me - am still paying £17.99 for blueyonder broadband, which i think is a lot of money!0
