NTL are no longer offering to pricematch Talk Talk as there is an Ofcom investigation going on due to the terms and conditions of the line rental minimum periods between TT and BT. Until that's been resolved NTL aren't willing to try and match Talk Talk.
Well if Talk Talk are still offering customers the deal I'm not sure what to think of that then coz its still available so is it just a way of NTL trying to persuade custmers to stay maybe? and if NTL arent going to match it when its still on offer it doesnt sound too encouraging for customers to stay when they can save money elsewhere
If it is true and there is an investigation by ofcom regarding Talk Talks rental times and it turns out Talk Talk are at fault surely customers would have some kind of compensation anyway but the offer is still available anyway so the NTL man could be bluffingThanx

Do you need to to upgrade?
If you use BroadBand and use it for emails picture uploads etc.. and dont watch movies or need to down load these and music files fast, you really dont need the boost or pay extra.
If you have TV and BB from the silver set top box thats fine however, the following note applies ( The black boxes supplied to some areas are probmatic with NTL line upgrades). NTL are required by law to supply Digital services as as part of their remit ie: BBC on demand and Freeview and to be compatible they have to boost BB at no charge , that snippit of info is from the techies.
First and foremost. Ensure you are receiving the service you are paying for or not, if it is the latter read previous threads and fight for your rights, as its getting late and i need my beauty sleep:)Rememember. Everyone seems normal until you get to know them.

I am absolutely furious I posted earlier that I had been given a deal with NTL for 1mb broadband, 24 unlimited 24 and family pack tv because of the talk talk offer for £20.49 per month
I think it was broadband free and half price tv and the rest on the phone
The tv came through a while ago it said I owed £9.77
The phone bills and broadband have come through today full price and still saying I'm on 321 calling so I've got call charges aswell plus I've called more places than normal as I thought it should have been free. I rang 3 times after the deal was given to check everything had gone through and was told yes it had, I'm so angry I knew that other people had been given this offer or similar but I just had a feeling somethingwould go wrong.
I have called NTL and the guy has said the deal is too good to be true so he has said hes not ammending it or refunding me any charges but hes sending an email to the person that set the deal and getting in contact with her manager and he said if they don't call me back within 24 hours he will
I was told to call back in 3 months too to renew the contract with no fuss but I don't think they are going to honour it even the first time and I want to leave all 3 services. I do have an original BT line so that should be free to reconnect I just am so angry that they have messed me about. I do already have sky downstairs but the ntl is for upstairs so I could get some kind of link from downstairs and get rid of the NTL TV (I hate the NTL remote control anyway)
Who would be the best place to move to for broadband, phone and maybe tv if I have to have the tv as part of an offer?Thanx

Lady-k. Sky does have link box to enble viewing in different rooms or you can buy a Video sender which may be sufficient.Rememember. Everyone seems normal until you get to know them.

Yes I know I will do that if I can get someone to do it for me as its upstairs I cant really do it myself.
I just want to move from NTL now though I'm just not taking that c**p from them
I could go with sky plus next time I have to call after my present 3 months half price offer with them and have the old box upstairs but I thought someone said you have to have both connected to the landline phone and I dont really want thatThanx

hi COS / Lady_k..
i was wondering what you thought of homechoice, its just that (i may have mentioned in another post) i can get it half price for the year. Just not sure if its worth going for, cause ntl dont seem to want to offer me a good deal !0 -
I've not heard of homechoice but I'm looking for another provider anyway. How much are they?Thanx
Lady_K0 -
they seem to similar to ntl, their web site ( https://www.homechoice.co.uk) has loads of different packages. the only thing is that you need to have a bt line.0
