Ater reading you artical on talk talk I rung telewest. As I dont download films or music they have offered me this deal 24 hour broadband at 1/2 meg no contract 6 months ago Iwas paying 24.99 then I got it down to 17.99 so now at this price brill. Thanks for your great site.:j0

I phoned retensions (0800 0529403) and said I'd been looking at the talk talk offer - they have moved me from:
2mb + phone line rental @ £36 /month
to
10mb + phone line rental @ £23 /month
I know i could save a little more by going to talk talk - but I hardly ever use the phone, and can't be arsed with the possible hassle of switching for £2 or £3 a month. NTL do have a pretty good & reliable broadband service nowadays, and I'd be lost without it.
now for some serious downloading !0 -

not happy that NTL's 10mbps is in reality 4mbps tops ...
anyone regularly getting much over 500Kb/s download? --even from NTLs own servers?
marketing people should be shot.0 -
ive been with NTL for around 4-5 years now & would like to cut the costs, but i will be moving to my first property soon, soo would you say it would be better to phone them after ive moved in & try and hit for a bargain as well as getting the internet installed in the new house?0

I would urge everybody to do this. If like me you're a bit shy just ask how you go about cancelling and they'll do the rest. Been putting it off for ages and have now been upgraded to 2 meg broadband for £12.49 for 12 months plus talk unlimited. Go do it!!!!!!!0

i doubt you can tell that much when you're loading up web pages.
but again, as bandwidth is key, if you're only using on average 4mbs then i bet they have some sort of regulating thing on the line like BT does which works out an average of your speed for the first 10 days then sets it there whereout. Just an idea like0 -
Just called Telewest
I was paying £28.49 for 2mb & phone
Now paying £20 for 4mb & phone
Im a happy bunny :-)0 -
ive just got the 2mb (changing to 4mb start of june:j FOC) for £12.49 for 12 months, this saves me £150 for the next 12 months. i quoted the bulldog 8mb offer.
