If you have left Virgin and are happy, good luck to you...
but who ever paid £18 a month for 2mb BB with Virgin... ok that might be the stated price for it, but a quick call to India and they will reduce it down to £10 without question.
Current offer is £4.50 per month for the year - not sure if anyone has managed to get this as a retention offer?

Is anyone on this package and getting a better deal?.
Talk unlimited
Tv XL package
B/Band 2mg
one V+Box
one standard box.
Total £49.00 a month.
They also said, if I pay a one off payment of £75.00 for my old V+Box which I have had for a year, they will knock another tenner off.
If I want another V+Box it will be another one off payment of £75.00.
So if I go for the above package with 2 V+Boxes it will cost £39.00 a month and a one off payment of £150.00 plus they said I will have to give them the Standard box back.
Before I go, am I talking to retentions when I call 150 and option "Thinking of leaving", or is this still C/S until I ask them to cancel my contract?.
I have just over a week to decide what to go for.0 -

I have the same package and I pay £39.45. I paid £100 last year for the v+box to have a tenner off every month.0 -
I have Talk Weekends (M) £11
TV XL £20.50
Broadband XL £25.
Talk evening and weekends £3.45 (which I never asked for, they have just turned the M phone into a L phone - I'm complaining)
E BIll discount - £0.50
TV, BB & Phone bundle saving - £10.50
3 for £30 Bundle saving - £9
V+ box free as on XL TV.
Total bill £39.95. Hopefully get it to £36.50 if I can get the evening calls taken off.
However just had a letter saying the bill is going up £2.50 but the E Bill discount is increasing to £1.
Looking on the site the XL broadband is now £20 instead of £25. Has anyone else found this and will they reduce the bill? I just thought if they can try and put my price up, can I try and reduce my bill in the same way?Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast0 -
This really just emphasises the general principle of haggling with your existing supplier to get a better deal.
I got a flyer from Virgin in my post with deals for new subscribers. I was particularly annoyed by the'standard rate' of £16 for the size L broadband. I'm paying £25 at this point, plus £11 for the phone.
When I ring up about this I'm told it's a special rate for new customers, so I complain about being with them for several years and why should I pay more for being a loyal customer etc. The woman says she can't help, she isn't allowed to offer me anything.
So I drop in a comment that Sky is looking even more attractive, since they lost Sky 1 on Virgin (even though I don't have the TV package!). Without me asking, the woman suggests I talk to the cancellations department as they have special retention bundles to offer people who want to leave.
So I end up with a bundle that is £10/month cheaper than what I had, plus all landline calls are free (less than 1 hour) plus discounts on mobile and international calls, saving me even more.
It pays to make them think you are going to leave - they are willing to barter!0 -

XL TV
Phone Eves WEs
4 MB BB
For £35 like many others
So add £20 for Sports and Movies - u should get 4Mb BB imho
But you have to cancel 1st to get the best person calling up with an offer that fits in my experience0 -
Sofar - I've got :-
TV XL (Standard Box)
BB XL
Phone Line Rental with free weekends and evenings
Total £40 per month
Does anyone have any suggestions on how I could negotiate an additional TV Box (VM Plus?) - and what I might expect to pay?, sofar they offered an upgrade to my standard box for a one off payment of £75.
Thanks0 -
Need some advice, a few people have suggested that I call VM and ask to be disconnected, this will probably result in me being given a better deal that I am paying currently, anyone else tried this? at present we are on the VIP package for £85 a month which is
Talk unlimited
Broadband
V+ box & additional box
and I think we have sports and movies
thanks in advance x0
