just called again (option 4 - thinking of leaving ntl option)
was told i was paying the correct amount.
and they didnt seem to care if i could move to faster dsl for cheaper.
they did say if i wanted to save money why not downgrade to 2meg
been a customer since 2001 and since 2005 on my current account
/sigh
Oh noguess this is a sign of things to come maybe, I can't afford £37 if they start charging me full price so may have to downgrade to 4mb, or start a new contract in boyfriends name as they are offering it a little bit cheaper for new customers, or proabably both. Refuse to go back to BT.
Anyone know if quidco applies if you only get broadband as its now worded bundles0 -
Hi guys can some one tell me whats the best deal i may be able to get from VM, i am currently on:
XLBB : £37.??
Tel Line & Talk Unlimited: £12.50 (for 3 months then @ £25.00)
I was thinking of getting their digital TV service aswell but was looking for a beeter service. i read some were in this thread that some one had XLBB, PL+TU, Basic TV around £40-£50.
Thanks in advance guys as this way i will now what to ask for when i ring them up.0 -
Virgin basic TV (M) is free when you take phone line0
-
If you phone them up telling you want to get Tv then they will probably give a package discount, and you'll probably end up paying less then you currently are.0
-
thanks, didnt know that, also i would be going for their HD box which is an extra £10 i think?
£10 if you take the XL package otherwise £15, but you can pay a one-off payment of £150 (or £100 for existing customers) and then you don't pay the £10 monthly charge. So basically after 10 month you've got your money back.

They will be happy to find a good deal for you as you're willing to increase the number of services you get. If you're not happy with the 1st person you speak to you can always ring back a few hours after that.0 -

i have XL broadband and XL phone for 40 quid, tv is free but i didnt want it, however i may rethink that as sky have put the prices up again0 -
thats a good price. £40 for 2 xl services and free M TV.
Is paying the 150 worth it? and what other offers have other members got.
thanks0 -
I have been watching this thread with interest.
I am currently thinking of getting the v+ box and wondered if anyone has had any good deals.
I currently have
XL TV
XL Phone
M BB
Sky Sports and Movies
I am already receiving a loyalty discount of £25 pm which makes my monthly payment £58. Which I think is not bad.
I phoned retentions who advised that they cannot reduce the price of the box and if I want it, it is £150. Would like it but would like to pay a bit less than that.
Any ideas Ray1234 ????
Thanks for any replies:D0 -

I got this in Jan 07 just as the V+ box was being launched; a few blips a long the way, but this is my deal:
exactly the same as yours minus movies (I have sports) but plus a second box (so V+ plus a second standard box)
its costs me £16 or thereabouts for the sports and wait for it...........£36 a month for all the rest - a target!0
