Thanks to everyone on this thread. I've been meening to try this for a while and was waiting for my bill to come so as had it to hand when calling them (it seems ages since the last one i recieved). Anyhow after re reading this last night and having a quick refresher this morning I called NTL on 0800 052 9403 and within about 10 mins have got my bill down from £17.99 a month to £9.99 for the next 6 months. So thats £48 for 10 mins work, YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY thats a good result. Also used Edinburghlass's tip about setting the tart alert , its realy easy and I must get round to putting the date for that 18 month capital one card from a while back in it to.Nope.... Still cant think of owt interesting to put here.0

I think your best tatic would be to say your thinking about getting broadband and ask what offers they have for existing customers, if they erm and erm about it quote offers for broadband with other providers -check to make sure you can get that provider before quoting just in case. My broadband cost nothing for the instilation so you should push for that plus point out you have a phone with them and some broadband providers are including a phoneline plus unlimited UK landline calls -you've nothing to lose!0 -
magentadreamer wrote:A big big thank you to the person who started this thread. I have been an NTL customer for years. My original package included phone and analogue TV £14.00 a month Broadband £17.99 a month Second phone line £7.50 Disney Channel - £5 ( Disney is watched all the time) average amount of calls per month £5.
Last week I bought a cordless phone thereby enabling me to cut off the second line - I had it originally when I was on dial up then ended up keepiing it due to having to have a phone when the broadband went belly up on me - it helps if you can sit by the phone and see the computer. I rang NTL up last week got the second line cut off saving me £7.50 a month ( the cordless one will pay for itself in 4 months)
Last night I read this thread and thought why not tell them I want a special deal. Today after doing the normal CSA route to Sales to retention - under 10 mins of my life wasted I was offered 6 months broadband £9.99 plus unlimited UK landline calls for free for 6 months. I make most of my calls in the evenings so I've saved circa £78.00 for the 6 months. I shall be ringing again in 6 months!!! :j :j   :j
Glad to help... go on, drop me a thanks!0 -
My best friend rang them with the aim of getting one better than me - Broadband £9.99 for 6 months and unlimted UK landlines calls at any time for 6 months so slightly better off then me!0

Sucess here with ntl Manchester.
They sent me an offer in the post for 1MB BB for £12.49
beacuse I already had the phone service .They had 'forgotten' I
also had 1MB BB at £17.99 a month with them.
I rang them and said I was thinking of swapping to ic24 @ £9.99
for 1MB but had just received their offer and I was interested.
Within seconds they matched it.....RESULT.
Thanks everybody.

I phoned them 6 months ago and threatened to leave, said I wanted a better deal. I got free internet access worth 17.99 for a year. But what they did was credit the whole amount to my account there and then, so for the last 6 months I have paid nothing for the phonecalls, TV or broadband.
This credit has just run out so I gave 30 days notice on the TV and phone to get a freeview box and move phone to BT to get cheaper calls.... I threatened to cancel broadband as well and they gave me 2meg for £9.50 a month in order to keep me.
They must be really desperate!!!
Give it a go! Call them! I've saved HUNDREDS this way...0 -
thank you , thank you! after a very fast call to ntl, i have saved 1o pounds a month for a year on my tv pack and 8 pounds a month for 6 months on my broadband. excellent.0
