Thanks for the info - I'll phone them again and doublecheck that what they promised me is going to happen. I spoke to Riju in 'Package Changes,' not 'Retentions' so they may well say the same to me.

I currently just have the NTL phoneline and paying the normal monthly charge for that, I wiish to get broadband from NTL cheapeset as possible, what would be the best way of doing this and how much would I expect to pay for both?
(I used to be a TV customer too but cancelled for SKY about a year ago)
All help and advice appreciated0 -
I have been an NTL Customer since they established themselves in this area some nine years ago. I recently asked them to up my BB speed to 1Mb but was told that they could not help me on the price I would still have to pay £17.99. A friend was given the same speed BB for £8 per month
Yesterday I phoned to cancel the service and was put through to the 'Disconnection' dept, i.e. 'Hold on the customer dept'
I had to hand the costings of rival packages, from BT, for the phone line, , and various BB packages, plus a number of Talk Plans, thanks to Money Saving Expert.
I was first offered that my phone/TV package be reduced to £11.00 from £21.50, then my BB be reduced from £17.99 to £9.99.
I also mentioned that I did not like the price of the calls particularly to Mobiles. They reduced my Call24 plan from £14.50 to £10.00. When I said that I was still not happy, he offered to give me 3 months completely free.
I stayed!!

Well I hope you all have better luck with the billing departmen than I have, since having my price reduced to £15 a month for 2 meg I've been charge anywhere between £19.99 and £37.98 apart from last month where they didnt bill me at all, so now I've got a letter off them telling me I havent paid anything for the last 3 months and they're generously going to ammend my next bill to account for this, I think it's time to cancell my direct debit as this is becomming a bit of a game :j :rotfl: :j0

I have been an ntl customer for over 2 years on their 2Mb connection. I rang them today and said I'd seen postings in forums suggesting I could reduce the £24.99 I'm paying by asking for a deal.
After a couple of minutes trying to find an code to input, the chap at the other end was quite happy to offer, for three months: 3MB @ £24.99 or stay on 2Mb @ £12.50.
I said that I'd seen an offer for 3Mb @ £17.50 back in July, but he said that was no longer on offer. I accepted the 2Mb @ £12.50.
If you're interested, tell them that Tiscali offer 2Mb unlimited for £17.99.
