Well I called cancellations today and this is what I was offered:
2MB BB
TalkUnlimited + Line
Talk Mobile (which I don't need)
Talk International (which I don't need)
for £19.50 (and also ties me in new 12 month contract )
Well I didn't take the offer - I just want what I'm currently on for about £16-£18. Am I being unreasonable?

I have just got off the phone to Virgin and they are offering me:
10MB BB
TalkUnlimited + Line
Talk Mobile (which I don't need)
Talk International (which I don't need)
for £36 (and also ties me in to a new 12 month contract)
My bill for the past few months has been £21.00 for:
10MB BB

I rang Virgin/NTL today to get my XL package reduced from £31.50. Initially they offered L package for £22.50, so I said "You want me to go to Sky then. They will charge me £21 including Sky 1 etc". At this they offered £20 for my current XL package so I took it.0

Try and beat this deal?
I just got my monthly bill cut to £0 :-)
I just cancelled Virgin Media. Roll on the new life.......possibly with SKY.Instigated terrorism the road to dictatorship.0 -
having enjoyed a real good deal but with a ridiculous range of discounts which require three weeks of forensics accounting by PWC to sort out each month, unsurprisingly it went tits up.
This month, two of the nine discounts didn't roll on with the upshot of my bill increasing by £25.50.
After 25 mins of messing around, good old Fred sorted me out with a credit plus a permanent "loyalty arrangment" rather than a plethorea of temporary discounts.
So, if it works, the bills will be fixed at £36 a month as agreed for:
V+ box
Additional box
XL tv
XL phone
L broadband
A good deal methinks (and the same as agreed back in ealry Jan 07)?0 -
Anyone managed to get a napster subscription working through broadband plus/extras with ntl/virgin media?0

What deal have you got with Sky ??
What deal did you have wing Virgin Media ??

Oh i didn't negotiate a proper deal with Sky, i was just probing, but what they offered was a lot better than Virgin. I'm still thinking about it.
But, I was paying over £65 a month for Virgin for 3 services (phone, TV and internet). This is over £20 more than what i could get with Sky (even without dealing) - plus Sky offers a better service (the Sky channels back plus the proper interactive service on SkySports).
So i'm afraid Virgin Media (or at least the person who dealt with my phone call) really sucked.Instigated terrorism the road to dictatorship.0 -
Does anyone have a deal with Virgin just for the broadband package? I'm looking to speak to them just for this, and previous experience tells me that this is not going to be an easy deal to find.
They insist on getting a telephone package with them, which I am not too keen on as it seems to have a lot more charges associated it with it than my current supplier.
Any ideas?0 -
