  • Put your neighbour's bt number just for entitlement
    Unfortunately Sky and other broadband comparison don't have brain. They assume that everyone is on BT line.
    They should do it just on the basis of postcode as well. It hardly matters what is your number. what matter is how far you are from exchange.
    Person like me who don't even have telewest line (happy to have vonage)

    When you phone up to get a better deal do you have exact figures for the competition or do you just ask for a reduction? (Sorry, just too damn lazy to read the WHOLE thread!)

    I realised shortcuts wont pay you well.
    End of the day the people on other side of the line are there to make business.Just imagine if they haven't given you the best deal yet why will they give you now?
    So go through few deal especially in last week (after Sky one episode) see what is the best deal suits you and see if you can get better
    and let everyone know wht you got.
    If you haven't done your homework well then there are are great chances that you have to settle for less

    I just said I was looking at other options and wanted to know whether I could cancel seperate parts of my subscription, i.e tv or phone or broadband or combination.

    Just phoned retentions and apparently 'We are unusually busy', well I wonder why that might be! Also, 'You may want to call back later' and then I was cut off! I suppose that's one way of keeping your customers!

    Now I am exceedingly fed up! Spent 25 minutes on hold using the number posted 2 pages back only to be told when I finally got through that they don't deal with Ex-Telewest customers! I was told that she would put me through to the right department, after a further couple of minutes on hold I got the message saying the department is closed!!! Arrrrggggghhhhhh! And I still don't know what number I should have rang!

    Afraid not. That's the number I rang and it's for ex-NTL customers only. I have since found out that 150 is the way to go but they close at 5. That's top customer service that is!:rolleyes:
