I think we dont, i thought u have the 24hr unlimited call, xl tv and 2mb,,well, Im thinking about this because,I dont really go on the phone all the time and most of the tel numbers now are 0870 or so..then still need to pay, so, am thinking maybe it would be better to change from 2mb to 4mb and just get the evenings and weekend free call:eek:0 -
Swami Thanks for letting us know of your success. I still have 3 months left and have been tempted to call them for a while now but never got around to it/plucked up the courage.peter wrote:I am paying £26.75/month for "3 for £30" special offer with NTL/Virgin Media:
-2Mb Broadband (M)
-Base TV Pack (L)
-Talk Weekends (M) with Call Reminder, Fully Itemised Billing
I am paying £29/month for the same deal  without call reminder! Will definately have to give them a call.
I signed up with a door-to-door salesman and he promised me a £90 refund (under the table type!) on top of the 3months 1/2 price but this has not materialised and he keeps fobbing me off as to why he can't give it to me! Probably got a nice fat commission for himself and thought I wouldn't chase him up! I got all the conversation recorded on my hidden MP3 player so will be passing it to his boss if he doesn't cough up. Didn't want to call up before incase this £90 credit got messed about with but if it does come through 12 months will have cost me 18/month for all 3 services :jjswaminathanuk wrote:Do you think that a costumer who has another 6 months contract with NTL-Virgin can still get their price cut?
YES I managed to get BB (2 mb )+ starter pack for 9.99 not much save but still save. It is another story that i was already on discounted price.
Did I mentioned that my this contract started in October (so effectively 7 mnth left)
As it said in this thread and other that therer is no harm in trying. they cant put a penalty on trying to negotiate can they?
You don't have to threaten them of leaving but be polite and honest and ask for more you will get something.
See when I was discussing various options I was told that if I take phone line I can get far better deal for 20£ BB + TV + Phone that too couple of XL package I didnt took this. reason???? If I take phone line I will enter another 12 months contract for phone.
A suggestion tell them that this is give and take you give me better deal and you get more loyal customer. if customer think that they were blackmailed for the contract they will leave as soon as it finished.
I think you can get better than 2 for 20
Good luck. and do let me know the result either way
Cheers

We have 4mb broadband, TV and whatever they call the old NTL mid TV Pack (Large I think).
I'm on a reduced price offer already (£16 for the TV and £12.50 for the 4mb, and the phones free as it's in the TV rental) .
Bloke on the other end was understanding and looked up my account, He offered me the broadband @ £12.50 for 6 months, but as I've always had line rental in my TV package, he's shift that to the broadband deal. At this point I asked if they had a last minute reprieve and kept Sky could I move back without any problem. He said they do a freeview package, and he shifted me to that too, and if they keep Skyone apparantly thats in their freeview package.
So we get effectivly Freeview, the phone and 4mb broadband for £12.50
(Standard cost =Talk Weekends (£11)+4Mb Broadband (£25)+Free TV Pack =£36/month)
£23.50/month saving on standard costs.

===================================
Ps: Standard costs:
2Mb Broadband (size M) = £18/month
4Mb Broadband (size L) = £25/month
10Mb Broadband (size XL) = £35/month
Free TV Pack (size M) = Free with phone
Base TV Pack (size L) = £11.50/month
Family TV Pack (size XL) = £20.50/month
Talk Weekends + Line (size M) = £11/month
Talk Evenings/Weekends + Line (size L) = £16.50/month
Talk Unlimited + Line (size XL) = £25/month
Call Reminder = £1.75/month
Fully Itemised Billing = £1/month0 -

I placed an order with BT around 3 months ago, but before it was installed Telewest rang me and offered to match Talk Talk.
Previously they could not do better than the 3 for £30 offer0 -
Following the rebranding, is the customer retentions number the same for former Telewest customers as it is for former NTL customers i.e. is there only one retentions number for Virgin Media?
Also, how can I check that Sky broadband is in my area as when I enter my phone number it says I am on cable (which I already knew!), but doesn't say that if I get a bt line I can get their 3 for £26 deal.0 -

I explained I was after details of what they could offer me, and explained that I wanted Sky one and as they were probably going to lose it I'd more than likely be moving to Sky or just drop the TV and have freeview, but I'd might consider keeping the phone and broadband depending on the price. I also said I'm on a reduced price offer already (£16 for the TV and £12.50 for the 4mb, and the phones free as it's in the TV rental) . Wasn't trying to hide anything just be honest, and said I was just after the prices so I could decide what I wanted.

I've been with NTL (sorry Virgin Media) for over 10 years and I called them to ask about options as I'm getting tired of no PVR STB and no details when HD will be available.
I was offered (and gladly accepted) £19.50 discount off of my current package of £56.50, (XL TV, Weekend free calls phone and L Broadband 4Mb). The news re Sky may of course change this again.
Its definitely worth a call.0 -
