interesting, someone I know has had the same excuse from OSPS and is also trying to chase up RM to get a signature :(
  • Hi,

Can anything be done about OSPS business practice?

I was told its upto me to chase the cashback claim, its upto me to find out who signed for the damn parcel I sent and finally the three different staff members I talked to were like 'we dont give a t*ss about you or your claim'!

The only solution, vote with your feet and mouth :)

After OSPS refused my valid claim, I now refuse to do business with them, and advise anyone I can not to business with them if they are relying on the cashback :)

    Cheers, Des.

    Hi

I was with osps and had problems getting cashback every time apart from the first one and I had to claim 6 times but I did eventually get the money with persistence.

When my contract ran out I decided to try phones4u with a £200 cashback at 6 months. As it got to the 6 months I was dreading it thinking I'd have a fight on my hands again but I was very impressed. I rang asking the exact dates just in case I'd miscalculated and asked what time period I had to claim in and they said they have no time period that they used to say within 28 days but they changed that now and I could claim anytime after the 6 months no problem!

I just thought everyone had changed when they told me that. I thought as people had so many problems with cashback that the policy’s had been changed for all the companies so I was surprised to find this thread here now.

Anyway if anyone wants to try phones4u once they get out of contract its less hassle that’s for sure but check if they still follow the same policy though. I'll definitely use them again

I should also add they were quick too in sending out the cashback although they called it chequeback :)
    Thanx

I was with one stop phone shop a while back & did the cashback deal, I think I had to keep the papers for about 3 months or something then send them in with a recent bill & I got my cashback no problem.
If you're going to stalk me, while you're at it can you cut the grass, feed the dog & make sure I've got bread & milk in :D

[ .... How do I get a proof of signature from RM? Will there be a cost involved? How will RM send a proof to me?]
    http://www.royalmail.com/portal/rm/jump2?catId=15300182&mediaId=15400179 :
You can request a proof of delivery certificate by filling in a signature request form and posting it to us. A Recorded Signed For™ proof of delivery certificate costs Ј2.20. There is no charge for a Special Delivery™ proof of delivery certificate.

They play some game with us. Unfortunately we have no choice but to accept this and take part in this game.

As far as I remember you was asked to fax them Proof of Signature?
Probably my experience will help you to save time and nerves. I sent mine twice by fax. The next day after I sent first fax I was asked to send it again :wall: . The next day I was told that I should have sent not only Proof of Signature, but corresponding bill as well  . This is what I am doing now :coffee: . I am also sending covering page with all detailes and am adding copy of Redemption Certificate - just in case - trying to predict their next move .... What will they ask tomorrow?

They said they'd recieved mine around the 10th of sept. and about 4 phone calls later they still can't give a date as to when I'll get my cashback. The only encouraging sign is that they "started going through the cashback claims last week" :(
