Sent my phone, Nokia 5800, to Envirofone on Jan26th and still have heard nothing!

Im sure they are just processing loads right now!!!!

    No news here yet either.

Fingers crossed you're right, they're just ploughing through a backlog and my phones haven't disappeared in the post.

Cash4phones used 2-3 times never any probs.

Also took a very basic mobile to CeX Shop (or whatever they are called) was offered £8 credit or £6 cash - took the credit which I thought was an excellent offer.

I was amazed at some of the prices they are charging for shabby looking mobiles - one born every minute eh!
I am NOT a mortgage & insurance adviser - or anything to do with finance, that was put on by the new system I dont know why?!

I sent a couple of phones off to envirofone just under two weeks ago and am yet to hear anything. They're still showing as awaiting receipt on the envirofone website.

According to their website it can take up to 15 working days for them to arrive via the Royal Mail freepost service, so fingers crossed they haven't got lost and will get there eventually.

For anyone who's interested, I just received emails from envirofone to say the phones I sent have been received, tested, and they'll be paying what they quoted.

They were posted 3 weeks ago to the day, so it really did take the full 15 working days they quoted.

I sent my phone to phone recycle bank via RMSD and it was recieved by them on tuesday the 8th March. as it said phone not recieved on wednesday I rang them up and was told to give it 48hours. today I check (11thmarch) still says phone not recieved so I ring them again and get told the same thing....give it 48 hours. I respond with, I was told that 48hours ago. they then start to say well it has been recieved so should be going through processing right now.

    1. if it has been recieved, why haven't they updated their website to show this.
    2. it says on their website it takes 4 days to recieve payment after they recieve the phone. so according to royal mail and me giving them four WORKING days I hope to see payment on monday. however I imagine this to be very unlikely
    3. If it said four days originally, I take this as contractual and any delays on their behalf should mean I need to be compensated for? espescially as now they have confirmed over the phone that they have received the phone
    4. next time I will use EBAY as its probably less hassle

    will keep you updated
  • Do not use Tesco (Zonzoo) for mobile recycling if you don't want a lengthy and frustrating trading experience!

Deal made on 5th Feb and vouchers finally received on 7th April, after numerous emails and phone calls. The terms stated on their site are misleading re time. They don’t even aim to despatch vouchers until 10 days after they’ve processed the phone and they take days (at least!) after receipt (I sent mine recorded delivery, so I know when it was received) to check and process the phone.

Numerous excuses given and terrible attitude.

I have had a good experience with fonebank. They offered the highest price on my old mobile (almost double what the others were offering), sent the mobile off, got a confirmation email of receipt and a cheque within 3 days. The whole transaction took less than 7 days from start to finish. I recommend them, and would use them again.
  • Simplydrop are USELESS. I posted my sony ericsson about 3 months ago and have heard NOTHING. I repeatedly tried ringing to get no answer, tried 3 different email addresses and each email bounced back. I trusted this place because it's part of Royal Mail - obviously where I went wrong. Called again today and finally got through and have now been asked for my IMEI number before they can do anything. Now considering this service is for selling old phones, I don't have a record of this and can't even remember which network I was on when I was using the phone...so now I have to trawl through my previous accounts to find how I got the phone, so I can get the IMEI number, so I can call simplydrop back (if I can get through) just for them to pass me through to their finance department (?) which the woman on the phone had no idea what they do in relation to these queries. Hmm...I think I'll forego the £20 I could've earned and save myself a hell of a lot of hassle.
  • I have just used Phonerecyclebank who were offering the highest price for my model. Sent the phone off on 31st March, got emails all through the transaction (received, being processed, payment pending etc.) and payment cleared yesterday. I would use them again.
    Whatever

You will always get a better price on ebay. Most of these companies sell their stock to a few people i know who make huge profits by refurbishing them and selling them in bulk on wholesale sites or individually on ebay.
