  • I used mobilephonebuyer to trade-in my old mobile worth £60.00 and unfortunately was not a very good experience at all. I sent the package recorded delivery just in case. I had an e-mail from them on 20th March to acknowledge receipt of my trade-in and that I would receive payment within 2-3 days. When I logged into my account it said that my trade-in had been tested. I then received an e-mail 7 days later on 27th March to say they had received by package but the mobile was missing and that I hadn't sent the package by recorded delivery. (although I have receipt to say I did!) They told me that my trade-in had accidentally been processed on their system and that's why my account status said that the phone had been tested. I find all this very fishy indeed and would not recommend to anyone as you will probably end up with nothing!
Have used Mazuma and Envirofone in the past with no problems, next time I will stick with what I know.

Yes, I was just about to mention them... they were paying the most in comparison for 2 samsung phones I had.

Sent both phones last Tuesday 10th March. Thursday 12th March received e-mail stating they had received phones and that cheque will be with me shortly. Friday 13th March (unlucky 4 some) I received a cheque for £140...:T yippeee

I've used fonebank as well. Sent a samsung u600 yesterday to them. Got a email from them today saying they got it today and i should get a cheque shortly as well
  • I wanted to leave this to make people aware because this angered me so much!
I used Money4urMobile to get rid of my old Nokia, the main reason I choose them was because I saw on here that we can use a promo code to get another £5 for the phone. So I was pleased that I was going to get £24, or so I thought! Yesterday I received an email saying they had received my phone and £19 would be credited to my account within 7 days...so I obviously straight away queried this ammout, explaining to them about the promo code I had put in. Another 24 hours passed and I had a response to say, 'Sorry but no promo code was attached to this'! I have once again replied to say I can assure them I did put this in, but I expect I will not get a very good response. A word of warning to anyone else who feel they may use them, print out a screen shot of when you put thr promo code in as proof, if you can! If not do not use them, they obviously think their customers are stupid and therefore disbelieve them!

I posted 2 phones in seperate envelopes ( to take advantage of the £5 extra offer) to money4urmobile via recorded delivery. I'd been offered £29 each for them. After a few days I got an e-mail saying one of the phones was waterdamaged and was worthless. I called them and asked them to return it so I could see for myself but they'd already recycled it. There was no damage to the phone when I sent it, they suggested it must've been damaged in transit and should claim via Royal Mail, but alas, they had recycled the packaging so Royal Mail aren't interested....in short I'm one phone or £29 out of pocket!! BEWARE!!

It seems this Company have quite a reputation of being un trustworthy, I am astounded that companies can get away with things like this. Surely it was not their property to destroy without advising you of the situation first!! If we ran our business in this way and dealt with our customers in the manor which money4urmobile seem to do we would have been bankrupt by now! I am still fighting my case with them, it has no longer become a matter about the money but a matter of principle to me. Perhaps they rely on the fact of their customers giving up. Well I am dammed if I am, if it means sending an email everyday I will do!
  • Hi,

I checked my phone price using Martin's tool and these two sites - Mobiles2Money and Compare Phone Recyclers - to get the most for my old Nokia. To be honest, all these sites are pretty much the same by the looks of it. Anyway, the highest payer was Envirofone.com so I went with them. It was all extremely straightforward and I had no problems at all so I can certainly recommend them. My phone was in excellent condition so there shouldn't have been any problems with that as others seem to have had. As for the other companies, I have only resold the one phone myself but I have a friend who has used Mazuma and said they were hassle free too. I did post my phone back recorded and I would recommend at least recorded when sending one in or even Special if it's a very expensive phone.

I've probably got a couple of really old phones up in the loft so it will be interesting to see if anyone will take these as I'd rather get them recycled than just bin them.

    Cheers.
    Keeop

we probably might get more on auction sites.. I think, as selling mobile to a recycling company is hassle free and this is the reason of many people for opting it.. no need of describing the product and also no fear of loss of receiving money from the buyer. only thing is, need to post it.

Used these people last week to sell my old C905, It was all scratched and marked but all worked perfectly, but did not feel it would have got more if sold on ebay.

So sent it special delivery on Wednesday, Got an email on Thursday to say it had been recieved and got the £120 cheque on friday, Could not be more happy with the service.
