  • after spending the past 2 hours reading this thread and looking around the phone sites, I've gathered that Mopay or Mazuma would give me the best deals.
I have 7 phones to get rid of! (possibly more if I do a full house clean)

I'm also looking at cashback and it's looking like Quidco or Topcash back work out best for me.

Does anyone have any other advice on how I can maximise this?
Sadly I've missed the extra £5 offer I think :(
Any extra cashback points to be had for signing up?
Which is better- Qudco or Topcashback?

I posted 3 phones to love2recycle 9 days ago, and there is no sign of them. Not sure if they have got lost in the post or love2recycle have mislaid them, but I am down a few quid, and regret using this method to move on my old phones. It will be Ebay from now onwards, a lesson learnt.

Safer to post recorded delivery.. Costs less than you'll pay in ebay, paypal and then recorded delivery fees on ebay..

I was selling my phone to mobile2cash, which was a really good phone and worth a fair bit. They sent me the envelope and I popped the phone in and took it to my post office and gained proof of delivery.

A few weeks later I contacted them to see what was happening, and they said that my phone didnt arrive in the post. I didnt get the money, even though I had obtained proof of postage.

I wasn't very happy with this experience - I might as well of put the mobile in the bin!

This has just happened to me, sent 3 phones to love2recycle and they have gone missing. Down a few pounds, but its the bad experience that hurts more. This is the first and last time I send any of my phones to these recycle companies. Ebay is far more reliable, so much for trying to be green.

hi, it looks like im going to have the same problem with mobile2cash, i sent back 2 phones at the end of may, and havent heard a thing, i,ve sent two e-mails, but no reply. cant find phone number 4 them, but after reading your thread i think i would be wasting my time, i am gutted, thought it would be o.k being on martin lewis site. sob

I have also lost 3 phones sent to love2recycle, not sure these compaines are the best way to dispose of our old phones.

anyone had any success with love2recycle? I am a bit wary as from the looks of it nobody has received their money yet. I want to trade a nokia sirocco (£105) so am a bit anxious since the phone is quite valuable.

    'thanks

I have sent 3 phones to this company, and they appear to have gone missing. It could be the royal mail or they have mislaid them, I shall not be using them again. I would recommend you get good insurance cover if you decide to use them.
  • Mazuma were great, although I have only recycled one phone through them.

I was about to recycle my nokia luna through love2recycle since they offered me the most money (£125), but reading some of the replies above, it might be better to avoid them especially when so much money is at stake.

Can you not reclaim some money back through royal mail, if you have retained your proof of postage. They "only" cover you £36 (unless you used special delivery in which case you can also track your item), but it is better than nothing

As the value was not that great I decided to just post them, so have no proof of delivery. But I have been here before, trying get any money back from the post office (which is not special delivery) if very difficult. Previous use of recorded delivery has also been poor, items delivered without any signature, waste of money. The other point I would like to make is the packaging they send you, it is covered with love2recycle and it was a flimsy small plastic envelope, anyone handling it would know it contained phones, and it was an invitation to steal. As I have said in my previous posts I am not sure if this is a royal mail or love2recycle, but this is a warning about using this type of service, I am not alone with this problem.

I would sell it on ebay, you will get more cash for it, and it is a more reliable method. You can also charge for postage which will enable you send your goods insured and safe.
