Great to see you Seren, and to finally have someone going GL too! Which book did you get?
Hi Bails,
I got the following two books and am gradually tryng to make sense of it all.
The 7-Day GL Diet: Glycaemic Loading for Easy Weight Loss
The Holford Low-GL Diet Made Easy
It looks like a nice sensible way to go from what I can gather...just choose healthier options and have protein with the carbs.... (still assimilating a few of the rules but not a bad place to start)0 -
Numpties indeed KPC (and what a great word!), poor Vic!
I'll have a look at those books Serendis, think I've flicked through the Patrick Holford one at a mate's; I have his Low-GL cookbook and the recipes are yummy and very easy (that's where the feta and red pepper pesto came from BB). It turns a lot of 'diet' ideas on its head in terms of 'bad' foods (lots of which are nutritionally very good for you) and, I feel, gives a lot of freedom. Let me know how you get on with it.
Great stuff about the interview KPC, and free biscuits are definitely freeThe 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

Suggs, 5.4lb of extra muscle? Exactly where? Pictures please.[/quote]
Maybe I should explain a little more, if I am able.
My scales have a body fat analyser, it works out the % body fat. The booklet says that to obtain your best body fat reading you should do this at the end of the day, before your evening meal. However this goes against weighing yourself first thing in the morning. so I weigh and do all my numbers first thing in the morning, after a visit to the loo.
Because I can work out my body fat and the scales also give me a muscle mass reading, expressed in lbs, I can work out my muscle mass as a %.
Normally I have a downward trend with my body fat, with a tendancy that on alternate weeks it will raise slighty, but the following week its drops again. This week been an UP week
So back to last week, five day course, lots of coffee and quite a few biscuits, plus it was MrsSuggs birthday. I was going to the gym, straight after the course, and had added rowing to the mix, dropping the cross trainer I was expecting a gain and a 5.4lb gain is was I got, harshly I thought, but a gain is a gain. I expected and deserved it.
When I crunched the numbers though, I found..........
Body Fat UP from 22.5% to 22.7%
Muscle Mass UP 5.4lb from 73.7% to 73.49%
BMI 31.94%
Total Weight Lost 43.6%
I hope explains things, I hope things settle down this week, before I go to the coast with the kids on saturday for a week (from hell!) Big gains, even if its muscle are worrying. Besdies I hate having to explain myselfNo piccys Granny, too many floppy and flabby bits still to see.

Hi everyone,
I have not been on heere or a while as I have not been well. I am beginning to feel a little more human again. I have not been near any scales yet but I am a bit concerned that enforced rest may have done dire things to my weight loss. I haven't really felt much like food but have had DD mothering me and making sure that I eat.
victory I had the same sort of problems with DHs tax payment. They told me to pay online and then about a month later they took it off his earnings and it is so difficult to get it back. I am still fighting with them over it.
suggs I wouldn't dare try a muscle analysing set of scales because I don't think I have any muscle :rotfl:business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

Hey guys,
Seren: That is so awful that you have to re apply for your job. I hate that, would make me wanna leave!! Good luck though.
Poohbear: hope you get better soon!
Granny: Have a nice time in the culture zone which is probably no less cultured than anywhere else in the ukAlthough perhaps you can do the beatles tour, liverpool still wears the crown doesnt it?
BB: How much purple could you buy with that!! That is so fab, well done!
The motorshow yesterday was fab. Very tiring, but i managed to keep my cold inside! It was very hot in the tubes but it was really cold on the train home, matt bought a "i am the stig" t shirt so i wore that home like a retard on the way home. Then there was a horrible thunder storm which means i dont need to water the garden today
Hope all is well with everyone! x0 -
