I'm sure your friend will really appreciate your help:T and its brilliant about everyone rallying round your other friend too! what a nice place to live!:T
We are lucky to live here, a village - well that's a bit of an exaggeration, there are about 300 people! - in the middle of nowhere really! Just been rootling around in the garage, amazing how much odd furniture has collected out there - several chairs, and two dining tables! Found huge packing crate of crockery, not been opened since we moved here 7 years ago, see I knew it'd come in useful one day :rotfl:
Other friend is full of antibiotics and is feeling a bit better, her oldest dd is on study leave so is doing the nursery run and school run, well walk anyway, so I shall just drop off tea for the kids and lucozade for the poorly one when I go out later! Hope they fancy sausage casserole, cos I seem to have industrial quantities of it
Need to get a couple of clematis to clamber over the fence behind my new plants, hoping they'll grow through the big Christmas tree type thing, prob look like fake flowers stuck on it next yearTrying to resist going to the garden centre till dd3 gets home, if she's with me i can't spend too much as she'll nag and want to go to the play area - it'll make her feel like she's had a treat too being taken there!

Morning
Anniestar - Hope today goes well. Am thinking of you.
My Tesco shop came, spent £36 which I was pleased with - and they still gave me a voucher for fuel! :j. The driver had to come back though because he mixed up one of my crates and I had half of someone elses shopping. All sorted now anyway.
My rent came out this morning, which was crippling - just as I think I'm climbing out of my OD, the rent comes out and its maxed out again. Still, hopefully now I m on a very strict budget, I can get out of it £20 a month or something
Transferred more Pin Money into my savings account this morning - only £2 but it all helps. I am using the odd amounts I get from cashback, saving on the shopping, surveys etc and rounding them up to the nearest £
Off to work later, so need to have breakfast and get my lunch sorted (easy - leftovers from last night)
I bought a boiling gammon yesterday, for sandwiches - can anyone please tell me how I cook it?
Have a good one :beer:We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0 -
Hello everybody,
Well nothing too exciting been happening in my neck of the woods. Dessert was a big flop. I've made it twice before and it's been lovely. My dress is also a big flop :rolleyes:I look revolting in it. I'll post a picture later in the week.
It's definately going in the *house dress* pile. So all in all, a very dejected Aussie.
Ruby I hope you win the penguin race.
dogrose Great news that your troubles are gone.
Tattycath Hope the results are good.
Bookie If all else fails, maybe you could just give them one of your photo's.I'm sure they won't pick it up.
CM Ouch. You better go back to fondling your BM.
Annie Hope all goes well for you today.
Smokey Hope you've had a good week.
Well off to have a shower. DH just out. Bet he's taken most of the hot water with him. That means I'll be back soon.Have a happy day. Byeeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
morning all
thank you for the birthday wishes for my daughter yesterday, she had a lovely day and tea ended up being a picninc in the park with us and her bf,
i spent yesterday afternoon on top of the kitchen cupboards with a bottle of stardrops, thy were disgusting and so were all the vases stored up there. I only noticed when the florist delivered her 2 bouquets and we needed an extra vase down. So now all the coupboard tops are spotless, grease free and covered with newspaper (to make cleaning easier next time) and the vases and all washed and inside plastic bags so they dont get in a state again.
first load is done and ready to hang out and wm is going again
Hugs to all those in want/need of one
i hope the poorlies are improving
congratulations to all of those with reasons to celebrate todaySPC~12 ot 124

Good morning everyone:D
I'm not coughing at all today ( fingers crossed!!):j Rib is still sore, hurts a bit when I breathe, but only *catching, stabbing pain* occasionally:D I feel like a weight's been lifted:j All sniffles have gone too. I won't, however, attempt anything too physical or taxing for a bit longer, I think;)
It's bright overcast here today. I know that sounds like a contradiction, but I'm sure you know what I mean:D I think we have a chance of rain, but at least it's a lot cooler. Last night was incredibly sticky, really had poor sleep until about 5am, when I fell into a deep blissful sleep. Long way of saying I was very late up:o
mummysaver how lovely that everyone is pulling together to help your friend on her return. And I've never had sausage casserole, so if you have industrial quantities......
Redruby you can't just leave it at that:rotfl: We want pics, we want pics:j Good luck, hope you win:D
dogrose glad your ordeal is finally over.
celyn shows how long since I had a love heart, I had no idea they'd changed the messages so much:rolleyes:
mioliere the favours sound lovely! You'll be perfect at them by the time the last one comes round;)
Aussie I've been a bit disappointed in the lack of photos from the Haribos. Still you can make up for it with a picture of you in your dress:D
anniebooklover I've heard similar tales about other airlines. I really don't know what people are expected to do. If you don't have a passport or driving licence, there should be a cheap ( no more than £10) photo ID you can get. It's ridiculous, you don't need a passport to fly to Scotland, but you do need one for photo ID. Crazy:rolleyes:  Good luck with sorting it out.
(((hugs))) for Anniestar, jannyannie, beth, and any others who'd like one.
I've put the BM on (:p Aussie) So I suppose I should think about maybe putting the washing machine on too? Then maybe that'll be enough exertion for today:rotfl:
Enjoy your days,
CM xYou never get a second chance to make a first impression.0 -
Morning all,
Headachy again – am sure it’s the weather, it feels very “heavy” and oppressive today. Been out into town & got a few bits I needed plus paid some cheques into the bank J Booked carpet shop to come & measure up my room, might as well get it done while most of the stuff is still out (after the painting on Monday).
Pippa, bathroom is well on the way now J I think by the end of today it will look “nearly there” and tomorrow will be the finishing off. I’ll post a pic when it’s done (if I can figure out how to again….). Got a new shower curtain in Primark earlier for £4 so that was today’s bargain.
Mioliere, you’re going to make a what on the where for your DGS..????
N9eav, congrats on your OH’s graduation, pity about the job but am sure there will be another meant for her.
Janny, hope the OH appointment goes ok – don’t be pushed into anything you’re not happy about, they are there to support you. Good luck Betheebee today as well.
Hester, so much for not having anything for the blog, still sounds like you are having all sorts of adventures (even if somewhat unwanted….)
Redruby – penguins….????? Different….. J
PenPen, do you have a cushioned saddle…??
Aussie, go to Kathy’s fantasy island instead of feeling dejected…. I’m sure you don’t look revolting either, lol!!
(((((hugs)))))) to all those needing them – AnnieStar, thinking of you & your family today as well.
Sorry if I’ve forgotten anyone/anything, need to get on with typing some of my letters for the office now, but don’t feel like it really L Might do in several short bursts through the day.Live your life until love is found, or love's gonna get you down" (credit to Mika!)0 -
Hello everyone
Churchie, hope you're feeling better dearie and giving your poor rib a chance to recover.
I'm just back from the dentist, it was a check up, but an x-ray revealed that I require a filling, so I've to go back in a few weeks. It's so nice to have something to look forward to, not!
It's a grumpy day here, a bit of drizzle and grey skies. I hope Andy Murray gets the weather he most likes to play in and that he flattens the other bloke.
Elona, what a lovely mum you are! I'm sure your daughter will be delighted with her present. If she's not, I'm sure she's not too big for a clip round the ear. Joke joke joke!!!
I've more form filling to do today, though it seems that the number of jobs coming up is slowing down. Perhaps there was a bit of a rush because of the imminent holidays so firms were getting their recruitment issues sorted out before managers clear off on vacation. I'll just have to keep trying ever harder as I can't afford to be out of w**k indefinitely.
Have a lovely day all.

Well i've just about had enough today:(:(I was in the middle of getting ready, this morning, when I got a call from a so called friend telling me it'd be a waste of time going for the look around the school today, as she had got the job.She used to work at the school, and had left years ago to have 4 kids.I spoke to her last week asking her what it was like, and knowing it was really too far for her to travel, but she went to a party at weekend, spoke to the head and got offered the job:rolleyes:
All that is fair enough, but the school and agency haven't even had the bollox to let me know. The agency to be fair didn't even know about this, so I would have turned up today, for no reason at all
The laugh is she doesn't even need the money, her hubby has a very successful business, and she knows I am absolutely broke at the mo, and supply work is scarce in Sept:(
I think I can now count her as an ex friend:o
Anyway added to which Dad is barely eating, and deteriorating rapidly. He had the stairlift put in yesterday, and got a walker etc, but he is so weak.Maybe it is fate I didn't get the job now:(
Anyway I know my probs are trivial in comparison to a lot of yours on here, so HUGGLES to all who need them today, esp ANNIE, PENPIN, BETH, PAM and anyone else I've not mentioned, cos I haven't read the thread yet.:o"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

Aussie - where's the photo? You couldn't possibly look revolting in anything; I'm so sorry, you did make me laugh!
Blairweech - when I do gammon I place it in pan of water, enough to make sure it's fully covered; bring to the boil, empty the water, put more water in - again enough to cover it - and boil it (not too fast) for 20mins per pound! I love it, it always turns out really moist that way. I pm'd you yesterday, by the way, about my trip to Devon!
Squiggly - I'm making - or trying to make - a Zook! There's a website that my DGS discovered called Bamzooki. You start off with a basic shape then you can add legs and arms to it in various shapes, like flippers, paddles and so on; then you choose how it moves and also what colour and pattern you want it in. Once you've made two you can get them to run races and obstacle courses! It's great fun but the Zooks can be quite revolting. My DGS takes great pleasure in making his look like huge spiders! I made one last week, which he had to improve for me but the one I've just tried to make, called NiftyNan, has disappeared and I can't find it. He'll look for it when he comes round, hopefully.
Well, off for some lunch.

Oh, Candygirl, that's a horrid thing to do. You poor thing - no wonder you're angry. I'd be hopping mad. I wouldn't have thought the school could take someone on just like that, without giving others a chance. Hopefully, an even better job will come your way soon. (((Hugs))) to you and your Dad. You have a lot on your plate and it certainly isn't trivial. We're here for you.
