Hi, this is the Daily Thread for today. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning....Nice start to the day, but the met office radar shows rain by 10am.
I managed to get the wall finished last night, despite the rain at 4pm. It dried up and I was out until 10pm getting the pointing finished. So let's hope it stays there a while. Mind you I would not want to be in a car that should ever hit it again......
I shall clean up this morning and after dinner we have my OH graduation for getting her teacher qualification.
The OH did not get the job she went for yesterday. They called and said she was very good, but obviously not quite good enough..... She is not too disapointed as it was quite a travel everyday...
Well folks, not much else doing.
Murray mania in the tennis today, I hate tennis. When does the football start again..?
Cheers

Good morning, N9EAV and all who follow. How are you getting on with your garden, N9EAV - I hope it's going well. Enjoy your OH's graduation - congratulations to her!
(((Hugs))) to Smoky, PenPin, Anniestar, Jayward, Beth and her DBs, Mrs Mix, Candygirl's Dad and all in need.
CHURCHMOUSE - :j :j :j I hope you're feeling a lot better today and that the coughing has stopped.
(((Hugs))) to everyone who is feeling unwell.
Well, it's not such a good start to the day as yesterday; we've had no rain yet and the sun is out but the sky seems heavy. I've put some washing on the line but will have to keep an eye on it.
I spoke to DH late last night; they're all working really hard in France in very high temperatures but at least they have to pool to jump into every so often, which they've really made the most of. He had said he was going to go and swim in the Med every evening - it's a 20 minute drive away - but he's been far too tired to do that at the end of the day! Still, I hope he gets the chance to do that at least once during his stay.
My plans today are to try and make a proper start on menu-planning instead of doing it half-heartedly; I'll dig out a notebook for that; update my gift list for birthdays and Christmas - from July onwards, the birthdays come in thick and fast. I have a stash of presents in the spare room but it's completely disorganised so I will spend some time doing that. I hope my Remoska arrives today and, also, the Love Hearts I bought on eBay for the wedding favours. I also have a lot of filing to do - having spent the last week or so on DH's accounts, the rest of the paperwork has just piled up on the desk and it's starting to wind me up now! The intention is to clear the decks completely before DH comes back, a week on Saturday, but that will only happen if the 'to-do' list doesn't get added to - some hope of that!
I'll be collecting DGS from school this afternoon, which reminds me - I must make a Zook on the Bamzooki site as I promised him I would!
Well, I think I'll go and have a mooch round the other threads so I'll catch up with you all later.
Have a good day.

Morning all, emmm I think it's Wednesday N9eav. Have been hovering since 5.30 had a restless night and bad dreams of DB's.
BM on for DD and SiL to be, I am going to make them a steak and mushroom pie for their dinner, will drop that off for them when I take the 2 Labs for a walk before I go to Hosp.
Will dig in the freezer for our dinner as I am still not buying stuff until it is nearly empty. Must save more money.
Will vacume once DH is up, kitchen floor and bathrooms to wash. Hosp ap at 2pm hope to catch the market before that for f & v.
Hope it,s a good day for you all x0 -
Went shopping last night...the cupboard was bare (well nearly)...and OH paid...bonus. Just lounged yesterday as it was too hot to do anything else. Didn't want to take little one out and get her scorched. My sister popped round too, so I got the chance to say hello to my two little nephews.
Main job today is to order the theme park tickets from tesco clubcard. Have chosen Drayton manor this time...for better or worse. Done all the others so it seems fair. Unlike previous trips I will not be going. Its going to be a Dad and teenage daughter event. Or that's the idea anyway.
Might go out...but suspect I'll stay close to home as its talking of rain later. Lounge needs a hoover...but can't do that whilst Lily is still in bed as it'll probably wake her up. Can't do the washing up...OH used up all the hot water last night. So I'm having a nice peaceful morning on her. Sigh.Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move
Lily contracted Strep B Meningitis Dec 2006  Now seemingly a normal little monster.
Love to my two angels that I will never forget.0 -
Morning all
N9EAV well done to the wall. Hope your OH enjoys her graduation.
HUGS TO ANNIESTAR, HOPE IT GOES AS WELL AS IT CAN TODAY.
PENPIN GLAD YOUR HOME.
HUGS TO BETH AND YOUR DB'S, SMOKEY, JAYWARD, MRS MIX, CANDYGIRL AND HER DAD AND ANYONE I'VE MISSED.
It's really humid here. Have had some rain overnight, not that much though. Have been out for a run and it was hard going today.
Studying again this morning, then I have an occupational health appointment at 11am to do with work. All I know is nothing has changed and I'm not ready to go back yet. Will be looking for another job anyway, as I feel really burnt out. Will pop down the allotment at some point to dig. Want to put some weed suppressing membrane on the bits I've cleared and put some manure on one bit so I can grow brussels in it next year.
Dinner is spag bol done in the SC, DS will be pleased.
Have a good day all.

Good Morning All
Enjoy the graduation ceremony N9eav
(((Hugs))) to Bethebee and anyone else who needs one.
No sun at the moment and it seems to have rained overnight which saves me watering my new hanging baskets that I got yesterday.
Tai Chi this morning then office work or ironing this afternoon. Still have DD at home but she is no problem.
Have a great day.

Morning all
Hugs to Smoky, PenPin, Anniestar, Jayward, Beth and her DBs, Mrs Mix, Candygirl's Dad and Churchmouse.
We had a peaceful evening here at least, BIL now come in & hands his car keys to me as soon as he arrives. Social services are visiting them today and checking on other family members.
It rained here at 9ish last night, so I went next door to let the cats in, they were very pleased to se me, they thought I was going to feed them again.
I'm off to work soon, we had an engineer in yesterday to service one of my machines, slight problem as the guy had a bell phobia & had a panic attack every time a bell rang, fancy sending someone like that to work in a school! It made it a very long & difficult morning, I had to keep an eye on the time & get him off site every 40 minutes!
Have a good day
Hugs Hester

Good morning!
Very warm here, but sky looks cloudy, best get rest of plants in the garden before the rain arrives I think. Just having toast and tea in bed, lovely! All is quiet here, oh has gone off for the rest of the week on business, and all children are asleep till their alarms start at 7am.
Made so much bread in the end yesterday that don't need any today, thinking of giving tiger rolls a go, so need to find out how to make them! Kitchen needs a quick tidy and the bathrooms a go around but think that'll be it for housework. Found some sausages already cooked in the fridge yesterday eve, so threw them in the SC with some veg and beans and toms, so sausage casserole tonight for the troops.
Do need to do some more washing and ironing, but shouldn't be too bad I hope, most of it is ds's stuff and at least he hangs it up!
Need to pop over and see how a poorly friend is, got a nasty bug and 3 kids to look after so have volunteered to give her a hand and sort out tea and stuff, and have promised to dig out some bits of crockery and cutlery for friend back from Oz, as although she has her house it is empty as all their stuff was shipped out with them when they went! Whole village has mobilised to find spare furniture, bedding, appliances, towels, etc. Amazing what everyone has done, and makes me realise again just how lucky we are to live here.
Have a lovely day all. xxGC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -
Morning all,
A bit overcast here today but very muggy, glad I got the washing and grass done yesterday. Off to W**K today, this morning I have to dress as a penguin and have races with my colleagues, ( yes really), its for our big volunteer party we are having next week. Sometimes I love my job, sometimes I hate it.
Lemon chicken rice and peas tonight, hope its ok, this is a new recipe, I made the lemon sauce up yesterday and that tastes good, so dinner will hopefully be ok.
N9eav, enjoy the graduation
Churchmouse, hope you are feeling better xx
Hugs to smoky, penpin, candy, beth,
Anniestar hope all goes well today xx
Hester sorry but :rotfl: at the bell man, you do seem to attract them don't you
Off to put out rubbish and recycling.
Have good days all xx0 -
head is a bit fuzzy this morning after a little celebration/medicinal drinkie last night
our worries are over, police have dropped case.
so instead of hiding under the duvet I might wash it depending on how the weather pans out.
today, got lots to do. book a flight for son to come on holiday with us, book airport hotel/parking, phone kennels, food shopping...and when at asda have a look at some cheap and cheerful holiday clothes.
hugs to everyone who'd like one...plenty to sparex x x0 -
Good morning all,
I don't post much these days as home alone with ds (3) keeps me busy and tired.
Just wanted to say "hope everything goes well today" Anniestar
and I hope the rest of you have a good day.
Hester, I don't know how you cope!
I am off work today, so I will be able to do my shopping at my leisure instead of a mad dash, and this house could do with a clean. One of my friends has asked will I make her some of Twink's hobnobs, and I fancy having a go at making fishcakes.
Take care all of you.0
