Bulk LPG - Cheapest suppliers / supply route?

nilrem_2 said:My problem is that I don't know if my contract with Calor still stands after they promised a max price and then increased it thus giving me right to look elsewhere?I can find no way of contacting them to enquire about my account, my emails are ignored and getting to them by phone is impossible, I listened to their crappy music for 2 hours with them telling me my call was important then I pressed 1 and they promised a call back same day but of course 2 days later they have not.Do you have a copy of your contract? - the termination conditions relating to price increase are at point 6.2 in the version I have which is from 2019 ("DOM17V1"). My online account says my contract is a "Dom Bulk 2 Yr Renewal V3" - (presume that would be "DOM2V3"), but I don't think we got a paper copy when we last renewed in 2021... I can't find any contract documents online, but I don't think Calor's terms have changed significantly (certainly not in relation to the price increase) since we first contracted with them c. 20 years ago. In any case, the only penalty for leaving the contract seems to be that you would have to pay a tank uplift charge for removal of the tank, but the contract also states this doesn't apply if you switch to another supplier.I think if you do switch to another supplier they will have to contact Calor on your behalf, and presumably would be able to confirm for you that you are "allowed" to switch and that there are no other penalties.Re. contacting Calor have you tried contacting them via their online contact form, which comes direct from your account? (assuming you're signed up to Calor Account Online). Just a faint possibility that this might get a more priority response than an email...

Same problem here. I've tried 3 times this week to contact them - spent over an hour on the phone yesterday and similar times earlier this week. I've tried emailing, messaging them on Twitter but no response.nilrem_2 said:My problem is that I don't know if my contract with Calor still stands after they promised a max price and then increased it thus giving me right to look elsewhere?I can find no way of contacting them to enquire about my account, my emails are ignored and getting to them by phone is impossible, I listened to their crappy music for 2 hours with them telling me my call was important then I pressed 1 and they promised a call back same day but of course 2 days later they have not.
I imagine they have been inundated after they sent out the letter.
The sceptical part of me things they have done this because they know something is coming by way of Government discretionary payments for those on LPG.

Quick update on this now I've had a refill. Billed price was 44p / litre as per my signed contract and no mention of a delivery surcharge, so I'm a happy man.NeilJ66 said:I had a letter off Flogas on 9/3/22 saying they were putting my 40p / litre up to 60p /litre and also adding a £50 delivery surcharge to every order. I was out of contract, with 40p being the rate at the end of my contract. Luckily, I'd just signed a new contract on 3/3/22 and I suspect the letters had crossed in the post. I've not ordered any gas since but will make sure I check the price charged when I do!1 -

Thanks for the update @NeilJ66 - am thinking of signing up with Flogas and wondering whether you have to pay the whole bill on delivery or whether they offer a direct debit option? (I've enquired but not had an answer yet)...

I have a budget account with Flogas which is a fixed DD which gets reconciled against deliveries and tank rental charges,LessImpecunious said:Thanks for the update @NeilJ66 - am thinking of signing up with Flogas and wondering whether you have to pay the whole bill on delivery or whether they offer a direct debit option? Is anyone aware of the £100 government off grid payment as part of the energy package,
How is it applied? credit on account ? or direct payment thanks0 -
They do a budget DD scheme as others have mentioned. I've always found myself in lots of credit when I've done it as I tend to use less than estimated, so I've gone back to paying the full bill on demand rather than them keeping my money in their bank account!LessImpecunious said:NeilJ66 said:

It's much debated on this forum (check out the threads) but so far there's no details regarding who is eligible or how it will be paid.jamesg123 said:Is anyone aware of the £100 government off grid payment as part of the energy package,
