Bulk LPG - Cheapest suppliers / supply route?

Hi, I am with Flogas, outside contract I believe as I have been with them for almost 3 years. It seems to be a secret how much we are paying her litre for Bulk LPG, however, if I divide the last delivery charge, by the litres delivered, we appear to be paying 61p per litre, which, after reading these messages, seems very steep!! Can anyone shed any light on this and what should I be paying?
Thanks, Julie0 -

Thanks, JulieOuch! You should have been notified when your two years was nearly up. If you do nothing you will automatically be put on their highest rate which as you see, is very expensive. What I would do is:1. phone Flogas and complain. Tell them to confirm their rate and point out that you have not agreed to it. Ask them to refund the difference between what you are paying and what the contract you signed said. Tell them politely that you want this to be treated as an official complaint and ask them to tell you when their procedure is exhausted so you can complain to the Ombudsman ... see how you get on, and keep us posted. I think legally they cannot increase the price without advising you in writing so unless you have been ignoring them you have a good case.2. Get yourself back into contract. See other posts above about how to do that, but in your case I would definitely contact LPG Save as well as local independents etc.
If what I said helped you, please "Thank" the relevant post. It cheers me up somewhat..1 -

Your rate is £435/ 670= 65p per litre. You should be able to get it at half the price. Imagine seeing petrol at £1.20pl , then going to another garage and paying £2.40pl. Complete rip off. Complain, and use it as a negotiated point to get a contract . Look back at previous postings for rough prices- 35ppl or less. Try to get it fixed for 2 years. Get the deal in writing before you commit then post the details here to check.1

The rate is actuall £415 /670 = 61.94 ppl as all the prices that people quote on here are excluding VAT. I agree with the remainder of your post. If you can get a 2 year fixed deal then make sure that you have in writing that the applicable increase clauses in the contract are not valid.

I'm on the phone to them now, we annually use 1900l per year apparently, and they are offering a 19% discount, to 50p per litre. Am I simply not using enough to get a decent price?0

Far too high. You need to shop around and then go back to Flogas.1

Avanti have offered 35ppl for 24 months plus £66 annually. They seemed quite strict on the site survey and i'm not sure if they'll accept the hedges near the tank which shield it from the pretty garden. Although I would have thought as Flogas installed it 3 years ago, they would have the same rules and nothing has changed? Does anyone have any idea? Also I need to measure the driveway past the house as its quite narrow, and Flogas send their smaller lorries up (always have) I dont know if Avanti have smaller ones.
All this said, I will call Flogas back in any case to see if I can get the price down further.0 -
You will find that the rules regarding the siting of LPG tanks has changed over the years. My once legal tank in 1983 became "illegal" in the 90s. I managed to get Calor to resite it at the time, as I couldn't get anyone else but them to fill it. If Flogas only installed your tank 3 years ago (and were compliant with the regs), then you should find that anyone will be able to take it on. You issue over lorry access may be a problem if other suppliers do not have the smaller tanker.
Do you have any small independent suppliers near you? By the way, I pay 33ppl.1
