Thanks, I have contacted them initially via email quoting some of the prices on this forum, will see what they say.
Hopefully not off topic, but what about LPG boiler cover? I checked Homeserve which was one of the cheapest on USwitch, but they don't cover LPG boilers0 -

What make is the boiler? Homeserve is of course just an insurance company so with average luck, you will be better off not using them and contributing to their profits. Calor do schemes covering most boilers, you don't need to be geting gas from them to use it (and I am pretty sure their scheme is operated by Homeserve/Domestic & General). Baxi have schemes to cover most of their own boilers. Any local lpg heating engineer will service or repair, google the very useful Gas Safe Register to see who is in your area.
My Baxi Ecogen is not covered by Homeserve either, either via Baxi or via Calor. I am having it serviced by Baxi and will talk to the engineer about reliability. If he thinks they are OK now I might just pay for an annual service and leave it at that.If what I said helped you, please "Thank" the relevant post. It cheers me up somewhat..0 -

So.. a bog standard boiler. Find a good local lpg heating engineer from the gas safe register, get him to service it and be available if it breaks down. If it's been reliable so far that will be far cheaper than insurance. Most of them (the insurances) give out after 10 years anyway.
Might be time to think about replacing it though, a modern condensing boiler should be cheaper to run and a good engineer will tell you roughly how much cheaper. If what I said helped you, please "Thank" the relevant post. It cheers me up somewhat..0 -
Is there anyone else out there who gets their gas from woldlink. I too have just received a fab price, but I am concerned about having dealings with flogas again after paying extremely high rates when I had a contract with them years ago.
Any feedback on wold link greatly appreciated.0 -
Hi All,
I'm new here but wondered if someone could explain the best route to get cheaper LPG on a metered estate. I'm in Berkshire and recently Calor have "kindly" reduced our LPG costs to 48ppl from around 54ppl
They raised the standing charge not long after that so I'm not sure we really saved that much.
The estate has about 40 houses on it.
Regards,
Rob0 -
Hi Rob
Who is the point of contact between your estate and Calor? Whoever it is, they are doing a *terrible* job.. they should be able to get calor down to not much over 30p. Get a couple of quotes from Limagas or some of the other cheap providers mentioned in this thread and give Calor an ultimatum.. or just move. An estate of 40 houses all on lpg is in an extremely good negotiating positionIf what I said helped you, please "Thank" the relevant post. It cheers me up somewhat..0 -
Just had my latest price through from Woldlink today and it is 23.83ppl + 5% VAT !! Shame I am already full.0

If I am reading the chart that HateLPG so kindly posted, the wholesale price of LPG is 12ppl??? This raises a few questions….
Do the LPG suppliers buy at spot or do they use contracts?
I am considering the Lister ANSI tracker produce as they currently are at 31-32ppl. However, the chart shows they have had a margin of around 15p (e.g. 32p wholesale, 47p retail in recent years). Any reason not to expect 12p + 15p = 27ppl?
I know the ANSI tracker has been endorsed by Malvern Council but it appears to be a tracker in a very broad sense as there is no apparent and transparent fixed link between the index and retail price?
Anyone?0
