Your CSP (link below to find your local one) http://www.sportengland.org/support__advice/county_sports_partnerships.aspx runs the programme (they have loads…

Protective covering for outdoor gym
We have outdoor gym equipment in our local park, unfortunately installed on grass rather than Tarmac. . This winter it has become virtually unusable because the grass has been churned into a sea of mud through constant rain and people moving regularly from one piece of equipment to a other. Can anybody suggest an…

Diet & exercise buddy needed for 2014 :)
In need of a buddy. I used to go to the gym 3/4 times a week and am still a member. My intentions are to go back in January twice a week minimum. The diet part, I tend to do WW from home. I'm good Mon-Thu, then fall apart Fri-Sun . I was thinking of trying SW but can't get my head around it. Plus, I think I'd eat just…

Muscle pain after exercise
I have recently started swimming 2-3 times a week. Would a hot water bottle at night help with the pain I get in my chest and legs? It is hard to get fit when you are very unfit because there is a thin line between healthy exercise and injuring yourself.

Home Gym Ideas ??!!
Hi Everyone I love going to the gym but it seems to eat up a lot of my time and because I do shift work (earlies one week, then lates the next and all shifts have variable start and finish times) I cannot always find the time to visit:( Because of my job I must rest and the gym commitment sometimes means I occasionally go…

Can I change my mind about total fitness membership??
On Friday I joined total fitness. I was there as I was taking part in a 12 week course I had signed up to. I went to speak to someone about membership and was told as it was the last day of January the joining few was only £5, and from the next day would be £65. This was at 7:20pm. I was told I had until 8pm to join. I…

Cheer recruitment
Cross-posting this with the Relationships board to try and get more ideas!! Hi all! Wondering if you delightful people could give me some help. I run a small cheerleading squad, and as it happens at the moment we're having massive trouble recruiting! We recently had an open day and didn't get many takers, but I think that…

Gymophobics versus normal gyms
I'm hopeless! Can't decide on a gym, my old gym or the gymophobics. Both are 10/15 mins walk from home so close by and gymophobics is even closer to work or town if I'm popping in Gymophobics is easier to do as don't really need special gear to wear and takes 30-45 mins. Old gym I would probably take longer and as it's not…

Running advice please!
I can run 5km quite comfortably... I fancy a challenge for this year in the shape of a 10km run. I have seen one on the first week March. I'm worried this is too soon. I am fully committed and really want to achieve this but is it too quick to go from 5km to 10km in 8 weeks? Any advice from more experienced runners would…

Are True Gym pre pay packages returning?
I was looking on True Gym's website just before Christmas and you could buy 3, 6 and 12 month membership packages that worked out pretty cheap without the hassle of direct debits. Now in Jan they have disappeared! Anyone know if pre pay packages will be returning once all those new years resolutions have been sealed with a…

Health vs Money - Gym
Posting here as I think this is the best place. Long, confused post. I've been to the physio and I've damaged a ligament in my ankle, recurring thing. I'm very obese and out of shape, need to do more exercise. Walking has its place, but right now at least I need to exercise while not putting weight on that ankle ideally,…

Reducing in size but not losing weight
I've been eating 1500 cals a day for the past three or so months and running every other day. I re-eat the calories I burn off running so that I stick to around 1500 a day. I've been losing weight every week and have gone from about 15 1/2 stone at the beginning to 13st 12lb now, but for the last two weeks I haven't lost…

Best exercise for toning upper back??
I'm hoping someone out there is able to offer up some helpful suggestions for me on how to tone my upper back area a bit more ahead of my wedding next year! I'm a toned size 6, good BMI, and I exercise at least 4 times a week - a mix of HIIT, body pump, spinning, cardio and free weights in addition to around an hour of…

Personal trainer
Thinking about getting a personal trainer and wanted some advice. What sort of things should I look in picking someone? Is there such a thing as discounted personal trainers? Not sure if there are large groups offering personal trainers. I imagine they are mostly self employed. Is there any sort of health plan or scheme…
